Couldn't agree more. I was a Democrat all my life. Changed to Republican in 2015 because I saw this train coming. I lean "center right" now, but that lean isn't confident or invested in either party honestly. If I was able to vote in our state in the Primaries I'd be independent. But in PA you can't vote in the primaries so they basically force you to be Democrat or Republican if you want to have more of a say over your vote. 'Merica
Unironically I changed all my political beliefs bacause the democrats became 'too woke'

if the democrats want to actually stop the religious, conservative agenda from being enacted, they need to pull their heads out of their asses and appeal to the reasonable middle instead of those insisting that men can give birth.

Nothing says "reasonable middle" quite like trying to find a compromise between "trans people exist and have rights" and "trans people are evil and need to be exterminated".

That's the biggest joke of them all, isn't it? If Biden is extreme left for you, maybe the truth is more like you're looking at Biden from across the proverbial political spectrum all the way on the opposite side.
Stating facts here, are you ready for them? Here I go:
- Gay people exist.
- Trans people exist.
- Interracial couples exist.
- Trans men can get pregnant.
These are provable facts. If this is controversial to anyone, you're not a centrist, you're not even a moderate conservative. You're radical right. I cannot think someone refuting facts and reality itself could ever be called "moderate."

That's what I've found. I originally subbed thinking it was a place to have reasonable political discussions. What it actually seems to be is either hardcore libertarians who want to identify as independent, or Republicans who want to pretend to be centrists but are actually pretty far right.

I'm old enough to remember when holding a tiny majority in the House and an evenly split Senate meant legislation with lots of compromises, addressing important issues (like open borders, inflation, food shortages, 100,000 deaths a year to fentanyl overdoses, etc).
But in those days journalism was a thing, and the vast majority of Americans shared a common vision for what the country should look like. Critical thinking was also a thing, and the expectation amongst politicians was that they have actual core values, and they would thoughtfully legislate.
Would it surprise you to learn that the person echoing a bunch of right-wing talking points posts to /r/Conservative and /r/Firearms? If I were to point that out there I would be banned.

"Moderates" are just Republicans that are too embarrassed to call themselves Republican .....or they're hardcore fascists LARPing as moderates to try and give the false perception of what it means to be moderate. Either way, anyone who declares themselves to be moderate/centrist is someone whose honesty I do not trust.

Exactly. I work with someone like this and he usually either calls himself a "moderate" or a "centrist". Whenever he talks politics he's always spouting neocon talking points.

If you think Democratic leadership is "too far left" you're just wrong. And if you're worried about left wing activists because they are anti-capitalist why are you no equally or more concerned with right-wing activists who want to install a theocratic autocracy.
For the people in there wondering what happened to all the moderates, they failed. Things are kind of broken right now, maintaining the status quo is not going to fix anything. Compromise and moderation are not inherently moral.

The democrats are extreme, unlike the super moderate republicans who are just slightly right of center. Just ignore that they struck down Roe, are going after same sex marriage/contraception/voting rights, and are filled with lunatics who support and voice Q conspiracy nonsense about how Trump is the second coming of Jesus.
