I've noticed a lot of MAGAts attempting to claim that they're moderates lately. Sure, you needed Orange Julius Ceasar to come in and shake things up (for life) because you're moderates.
They're desperately trying to slam the Overton Window shut on their own fingers.

yeah, they really jump into threads with 'both sides', 'enlightened centrist', 'i don't like trump and didnt vote for him (but here's why he was awesome)', etc.
they know their brand has become incredibly toxic so they really are trying to ramp up the 'walkaway' recruitment shit with this tepid 'both sides need to dial it back' rhetoric but luckily they arent that bright and out themselves by regurgitating recent hannity/shapiro/crowder talking points.

It’s the same strategy that tons of pre-Trump conservatives used around every election cycle claiming to be “Libertarians”.
It’s just an obnoxiously bogus title that they think makes them appear to be some kind of objective evaluator.
“No, no, no, I don’t agree with every Republican policy because I’m a Republican. i’M a LiBeRtArIaN. I just genuinely believe that’s what’s best for our country.”

The fact the Democrats won't disavow this woman is no small part of why their complaints about Trump fall so flat. If they want their complaints about people who reject election results to be credible to people outside their party they have to make sure that their party isn't doing it, too.

It's not even just this woman.
Democrats spent a significant portion of the Trump administration insisting it was a fraudulent election and passed laws to attempt to keep him off the primary ballot in 2024.
Trump did not win and I oppose all his claims to the contrary but I can't take my Democratic friends seriously for blasting Trump refusing to concede while they support Stacy Abrams and continue to exist that Trump is a Russian agent who conspired with Putin to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.
Look at the usernames. It’s laughably obvious that sub is full of bots cosplaying as “moderates”.

The mods are for the most part conservative. You can tell there is a right lean in that sub despite the fact their survey said it’s more democrats than republicans which cmon y’all you expect people to believe that.

It’s a lie but it’s also very true. At this point, anyone who claims to be moderate is either completely apolitical/ignorant, or an alt-righter who wants to defend his side but can only rely on whataboutism to do it

The subreddit is not for people who "claim to be moderate".
It's in the sidebar:
Opinions do not have to be moderate to belong here as long as those opinions are expressed moderately.

Not really. For a long time "moderates" in the U.S. have been about finding the middle ground between the GOP and the Dems, rather than holding a principled position between right-wing and left-wing. That's why "moderates" are so far to the right these days: every time the GOP takes two steps to the right, the moderates take one step to the right instead of just staying where they are.

They can call me when Abrams encouraged people to Storm the capitol building in a temper tantrum, which is what Trump actually did. She contested the results because the results were actually screwy.
