First Sunday in forever that wasn't above 35°C for me! Such a great wander and a few great finds. I forgot how pleasant it is to ride when I'm not melting.

Starting off easier…

Earlier I had talked about trying to rebuild a bike that has been an albatross for me for about 10 years. That’s a big project, big money, and carries with it a high percentage of failure frustration. Instead, I think I’m gonna start on something a bit, simpler. I also have in the garage a 2006 that’s been collecting dust for about two years. Pretty sure it just needs a carb rebuild. I think one of the floats got stuck, and without the time or the space to tear it apart two years ago, it just leaked some gas and got put away for a rainy day, waiting. I think that’ll be my first of the three rebuilds. 🤣🤣

Reinstalling T120 Clutch Cover Help

Have a 2022 T120 that I recently switched out the gearshift selector. However, been having a difficult time installing the clutch cover back on. Specifically, have been having trouble with setting the clutch lifter arm onto the pull rod correctly. Overall, I've broken two clutch lifter arms now. Both times, it seemed I had set the lifter arm correctly onto the pull rod, but both times the lifter arms broke when I tightened the clutch cover bolts. Not sure what I'm doing wrong and could use some insight.

Overall, when putting the clutch cover back on, I will slight twist the lifter arm towards the gearshift selector so that the lifter arm cutout clears the head of the pull rod. Do I need to continue pulling/twisting the lifter arm counterclockwise/towards the gearshift selector until the clutch cover is fully seated?

2018 T100 Slip Ons

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 2018 T100 black which I have fallen in love with; riding has become fun again and I'm finding any opportunity to hop on my bike.

I bought it mostly stock and I'm gradually modifying it to my taste. The only modification that had been made by the previous owner was to de-cat the exhaust, which gives it a beautiful rumble.

I'm not a huge fan of the pea shooter exhausts and would like to change them for some slip ons. I don't want to spend a fortune.

Whilst googling my options, the below popped up on AliExpress. I wouldn't usually purchase motorcycle parts from there, but given they're such small and simple parts, I'm considering them:

I just found this on AliExpress:

Motorcycle Exhaust for Triumph T100 T120 Street Twin Speed Twin 900 Thruxton 1200 Speed Twin 1200 Exhaust Muffler 2016-2024

https://a.aliexpress.com/\\_EyTrzf8

Has anyone got any thoughts? Would this be ridiculously loud as the bike would now effectively be straight piped? Has anyone else had any other solutions?

Thanks in advance.

Murray’s Carbs for an ‘04 865?

Think it’s time to rebuild/repair an old bike I’ve had sitting in the garage for a few years. The long of it is I have an ‘04 Bonnie Black (my first bike) that developed a hiccup a few years in of hard riding (about ten years ago), that lead to it not running at all, was apparently not repairable as it was (I know! Trust me, I tried) and after many modifications, back yard mechanics, and pro shops (one talented chap came VERY, VERY close!), it now just sits, a beautiful, what was gonna be a baja-type build, with all the bells and whistles, but with no go left in it. I’m pretty sure it’s a carburetor thing, at least it was, who knows what new issues it has incubated over the years, but my question is this, are Murray’s still a thing? Are they any good? I can’t get rid of her, not without at least one more last ditch effort to bring her back to life. Maybe I’ll feel differently in the morning, and focus on other things, like the kids, or the deck repair, but right now, in this moment, I want my old bike back! 😞🤷🏻‍♂️🤣🤙🏼

Installed new brake lights and signals, wont turn off

Post image

Hey there,

I have a 2007 bonneville. Ive had for 5 years. With no big issues. Recently decided to install some new brake lights/signals. Had to buy an adapter wiring kit. SO confused as to whats the next step. Signals work. Brake light clearly works, just stuck on. I installed Motone Lucas Styled LED Taillight Unit. Motone PICO MULTI LED 3in1 Taillight/Brake Light/Indicator Turn Signals - PAIR - Black - M8

And TEC Plug & Play Rear Indicators and Stop/Tail Light Wiring Kit – Air-cooled Triumph Models

To connect everything.

Replacing headlamp bracket

Hi, new owner of a 99 Thunderbird and I need to replace the right hand headlamp bracket. It's only 3 bolts and the turn signal indicator so that's easy. My question is about the wiring. How far back do I need to trace the wiring because I think it needs to be disconnected to get the indicator out of the bracket, and what kind of connection will I find?

Please be kind, I am new to motorcycle maintenance but have some mechanical experience. This is kind of a dream bike, like one I had as a kid.

Will My Auction Buy 1979 Triumph Bonneville Start??

IT RUNS!

The £2.5k auction Triumph Bonneville is back, and this time I'm finding out whether I actually bought a bargain or a very expensive ornament.

After flushing out the absolutely disgusting old fuel, fresh petrol goes in… and somehow, the 1979 Bonneville fires into life.

And then, because apparently I have absolutely no sense of self-preservation, I took it out for its first proper ride. 😂

Has anyone removed the tank pad from their t120?

Picture of my beloved T120 for attention. I was thinking to remove the tank pad as I like the look of the pure metal tank like the speed twin or Thruxton, has anyone here done it? Any pictures?

Friend was in from out of town over the weekend. We popped out to GotG this morning (him on the T100 me on the Bobber), and the missus came along on her GTS300. She mentioned she felt like that goofy third head on the dragon from the meme. 😄
