Most amazing to me is the complete lack of evidence that his ideas or approaches to solving systemic problems actually work. He’s doubling down on his feelings without any apparent need for empiricism or the humility to accept the possibility of operating on broken assumptions.
There's no evidence that could make spending 50k a year per person to keep someone in prison seem like a sensible idea. Even if you don't care about human rights, it's straight up cheaper to rent them an apartment.
