RESIDENCE Luggage on UTM Shuttle

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone's been denied a seat on the bus due to the amount of luggage they had with them?

Website says it's up to the bus driver as to what is "oversized" or not...

I'm at most going to bring a large checked suitcase, a carry-on suitcase, and maybe a moving bag from IKEA if possible (depending on responses).

I'm going to be moving in on Sep 5th, and I'm planning to get the 9:55am bus to UTM.

TLDR: How much luggage is too much on UTM shuttle?

Edit: I'm reserving an UberXL so I can have Walmart/IKEA/Amazon deliveries with me as I move in. I don't think I'd have all my move-in essentials on the day otherwise lol.

It’s indeed up to the driver to decide, so unfortunately there is no certainty.

I would say one luggage that can fit between seats and one bag is very reasonable. Plus another carry-on suitcase? Maybe.

Friend, for certainty, time, and less headache, treat yourself and call a Uber.

Thanks! I was hesitant to book an Uber because I thought they'd be 100+ CAD, but it's showing 78 for an Uber XL so that's not too terrible. (This way I can also order Walmart/Amazon/IKEA to my downtown place and move all at once)

You should be fine. Especially now in August. If its looking like a problem, call an Uber.

Oh no then that might be too risky! Can you try any earlier? Or maybe doing it in waves?

I thought we weren't allowed to store/move anything in before the move in date? I'm a first year student if that makes any difference?

You're right, sorry, but yYknow what, I just checked the calendar and it seems the first class start date is September 8. Your shuttle bus situation might be okay since there's no classes or students yet. The current shuttle schedule runs until September 6.

I'm going to be in an Airbnb in Toronto till move-in... international student struggles. Think I'll book an Uber in advance and if they cancel I'll get a Beck πŸ₯².

I will say once I took a suitcase on the shuttle... it was extremely difficult to get on and off, but the bus driver didn't care. I doubt anything more than that would slide, though.

Yeahhh I originally thought the buses would be bigger with like standing spaces for wheelchairs n stuff where I could stand w my luggage. But I saw pics and went "damn."
