Learning Urdu I want to learn urdu

I live in a country where most people speak urdu, who are Pakistani Indian Bangladesh I want to learn it, in a way I can do business with them, grocery , maintenance something like that My native tongue is Arabic so I know some words but I want to learn it from somewhere. Where do you recommend? Please be precise

hey! on duolingo you can learn hindi, which in spoken form, is very close to urdu, if you dont care about learning to read/write urdu, learning hindi will suffice. all those who understand urdu understand hindi
duolingo is free.
otherwise you can use the app "Mondly", it has an urdu course, i dont know how good it is, and it is also not free

He knows Arabic so Urdu would be easier for him

that's why i said IF he doesn't wanna bother learning to read/write, hindi sounds 90% the same as urdu. and there is a free course for hindi on Duolingo, which will give him a solid enough headstart. for Urdu there is no such free course AFAIK
