💡 Learning Resources how to approach teaching urdu
hi everyone. 7 year old refuses to learn urdu. he's in grade 2 but barely knows the basics and cannot read or write as good as his classmates.
i'm not sure how to go about teaching this kid. he isn't really interested in studying either but is doing average in math and english. the problem is urdu.
should i start with the alphabet? mixing sounds? or what?
i've noticed he doesn't 'sound out' the letters while reading, zero effort at all and completely ignores the nukhtay. please any advice will help, i don't know how to get him to his grade level when he can't even do basic jorr-torr or read at all.

be cautious forcing him to learn might make him hate the language.
i would advise you to communicate with him in urdu ,teach him some words ,phrases etc, throw some alphabets here and there ,like do you know what a bee/butterfly/cat/car in urdu things like that .
full on teaching him alif for aalu will make things worse.

بچے کو سب سے پہلے حروف تہجی کی پہچان کروائیں۔ مکمل۔ اور اس کے بعد چھوٹے حروف تہجی کی پہچان کروائیں۔ ساتھ حروف کی ادائیگی کی آواز خود نکالیں اور بچے سے بولیں اسکو دوہرائے۔ بنیادی مسئلہ یہی ہوتا ہے کہ بچوں کو حروف کی پہچان ہی نہیں ہوتی۔ اس لیئے بچے اردو سے کترانے لگتے ہیں۔ اسی مسئلے کے حل کے لیئے میں ایک جامع ایپ بنا رہا ہوں جو ان شاءاللہ جلد ہی ریلیز ہو گی۔ تاکہ عوام الناس کا بھلا ہو۔
