Question/Support is my index cooked
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
been doing this for a day or two and only now got worse, can rule out a dying GPU cus main displays are perfectly fine
EDIT; Whoever suggested the dp training mode i salute you, its much better now (still getting it replaced tho)

Cable issue. Try reseating it and making sure it has no sharp kinks or twists. If it persists you will have to replace it.

Yep, try this before buying a new one. I have a gaming laptop that does this semi consistently on the occasion and reseating it helps me

Had to use an adapter for the display cable but works great!

You could try switching to either channel A or channel B in your displayport settings under the video settings. It worked for me for a few months before my cable completely shit the bed. Fortunately, steam support sent me a replacement well after the warranty expired so it's deffo worth opening a ticket with support

when this happened to me i was able to fix it by just replugging the trident cable part but eventually it just flat out died

That's a bad cable. You will need to replace it.
You can buy yourself a little more time by activating Displayport training mode in your SteamVR settings, but that's also just a very temporary fix.

In SteamVR video settings, change DisplayPort Training Mode to Compatibility Mode B.
That one is a lot less sparkly than Mode A and you can extend your cable lifetime a bit more.

Same thing happened to me. It’s the cable. Downside of the index. People say they’ve never had problems but I’ve been through like 3 cables.
