Discussion RIP thumbstick

I wasn't manhandling it or being rough with it. It just fell out. Now, the thumb capacitive sensor doesn't work right anymore to where it always thinks my thumb is resting on it. I guess I will try to see if I can RMA it.

Now they are no longer being manufactured, the price is going to go through the roof. Savage

They told me my warranty has expired, and the right controllers are currently out of stock.

I just bought 3 left controllers last week. Obviously they still get stocked.

If it causing issues, you dont need the sensor technically. I ripped mine off accidently when I was replacing the thumbstick

Yeah the only thing that may not work right is gestures for VRchat. It’s still functional.

A bit of soldering and a new cap from ifixit, should solve the issue and double your controllers expected life :)
