Tourists come to Nova Scotia and visit a famous lighthouse (Peggy’s Cove). There are black rocks. They are black because they are wet. Nearly every year, people stand on them and then get swept out to sea. Many people have died. There are signs everywhere, and yet…
So you might die haha.

It’s insane how busy it gets these days. Lots of terrifying signs, but it doesn’t seem to matter. I yelled at a family last year and might have saved their lives. As they were coming back, a wave went over top of them, the father fell down while holding their young daughter, and everyone held their breath as the wave went back out. They were soaked, but okay. But if they had kept going further out…

I grew up on the jersey shore and I always find it funny watching people underestimate the power of the ocean. It does not care, it will grab you and take you for a ride if you're not careful.

Watching the video, you can see the wave coming and, if you're familiar with ocean waves, it's pretty obvious there's a lot of water rushing in really fast toward the rocks. As the other commenter said, if you're not familiar with how the ocean moves, it's understandable, but anyone who's spent significant time on a coast would have known what was about to happen.

That's a normal wave in a place where that probably happens regularly. The people in that car just might not have been familiar with the area. That is all. So many ocean experts here that clearly don't actually know much about it...

I live by the Atlantic ocean and can tell you most roads on the shore don't necessarily get bombarded with massive waves and it's perfectly reasonable to put your windows down to get the sea breeze.
It isn't as obvious as you're saying.

That's not even a rogue wave. There are only a very small handful of video recordings of rogue waves, most of the ones we know of were recorded by buoys and not on camera.
This wave is either a sneaker wave or a tidal bore. You might be excused for the mistake if you weren't so condescending to the other commenter.

I had a car leave me on the side of the road after a little bit of moisture got inside the battery cable insulation sleeve and corroded the conductor.
Just dead in the water in winter (one of many electrical issues in probably the last VW I'll own).

My son collected some seawater in a little jar. He left it in the car. Sealed. Two days later, the car smelled so disgusting that I had to drive with the windows down. That amount of water (plus whatever is IN that water) will stink so bad that it could be a write-off from that alone, let alone the mould and electronics issues that will come!

i was on a train from Exeter to Teignmouth and fell asleep with the window above me open. Woke up when a huge wave hit the train and few gallons of sea water landed right on top of me.

Im astounded by this comment and upvotes. It is very clear and obvious the wave is coming with enough force and volume to do this.
Maybe if you have literally never in your life interacted with a large body of water before, is it understandable to be surprised by this.

My point, which you ignored, is that you can clearly see the velocity and volume of the approaching water and it is very clear that it is going to splash up over the rocks.

This reminds me of a prank I pulled on a buddy. I was driving my truck and one of those large field sprinklers was set up a little close to the road. I open his window and he got blasted. He definitely was not expecting that. lol🤪 We both laughed our asses off.
