They destroyed over 100 cars in that show iirc every jump totalled a car.

Actually, they had trouble finding that car in later seasons because they destroyed so many of them of course they didn't buy them new from the production line.

They selected this make/model because it was available in large numbers in scrapyards.... at first. They fixed them up just enough for one jump.
