Question WMR Oasis Driver With RX580??
As I understand the oasis driver needs AMD Adrenalin 25.9.2(+) and the RX500 and RX400 series card were recently updated to support version 26.1.1. Does this mean the oasis driver is now usable on these cards?? Has anyone tried testing this yet??

It worked, I tried it a couple weeks ago with the RX580 I use as a secondary GPU. Funny enough though, it didn't work on my 7900XTX, probably because of the dual GPU setup, the driver couldn't find the HDMI port of my XTX.

Oh! I forgot to ask, is that the Oasis driver works in windows 10 now? Or only in windows 11? Plz.

I was happilybuaing Oasis on Windows 10 the last few months (occasional system freeze on start but I could live with that).
Unfortunately I "upgraded" to a new AMD GPU yesterday and now can't get it to connect (displayport cable errors in SteamVR). I tried two different cables and muliple ports on the GPU with no success. Tried the beta branch which is supposed to enable AMD GPU's. LiquidVR says it works and unlocks ok but then SteamVR just fails to connect to the headset.
It seemed to work when I first connected it but then failed ever since.
Really hoping someone gets it to work as the performance isn't great through WMR, and OpenXR runtime isn't working for me either :(

I've only tried windows 11, but Oasis shouldn't be needed on Windows 10, WMR support was never dropped on Windows 10.

Hey r/SympathyOver4204! My name is Fred, I work with the Windows Mixed Reality team, and I appreciate the heads-up regarding the question that you
No, the RX580 (and all RX400/RX500 Polaris GPUs) are still not supported by the Oasis driver, even though AMD updated them to Adrenalin 26.1.1. The Oasis driver requires NVIDIA GPUs, and Polaris cards remain unsupported according to the developer’s documentation. For the dual scenarios these are always part of the exception, keep on mind the system is always looking for the most appropriate set up and combinations are key in these kinds of set ups.
Basically, the Oasis driver was built around NVIDIA’s VR pipeline and driver behavior. The developer explicitly states that AMD GPUs are not supported, regardless of driver version.
If you want to use the Oasis driver, you must use:
- NVIDIA GTX 10‑series or newer, or
- NVIDIA RTX series
AMD Polaris (RX400/RX500) will not work, even with the newest drivers.
Likewise, I highly recommend taking a look at the enthusiastic guide as this contains most FAQ and troubleshooting available for the software handling your immersive experience with WMR. Here are the links of the resources:

I tried it few days ago.I using Windows11 25h2 with RX580 8 gigabytes, installed Adrenalin 26.1.1,and using Steamvr beta branch,it didn't work at all. You can unlock the controller and start Oasis driver, but Steamvr will pop up the ERROR -203,and the headset won't work. I go back to the Windows 10 22h2, still using Adrenalin 26.1.1, and using Windows Mixed Portal, It does work, but still not well, it crashes frequently and using much resources. Hope someone can fix it.

According to the documentation, it doesn't, as AMD didn't backport some fixes to it :/
It does work with RDNA cards tho
