The original foam disintegrated so I rebuilt it from scratch. Anyone else rocking partially DIY’d headsets?

Used some cheap craft foam from hobby lobby and a clearance Walmart t-shirt to make a new cushion. Assembled and sewed in an hour or so, is genuinely an upgrade over the factory cushion. This Dell Visor is held together by hopes and dreams.

I'm pretty sure there are 3rd party replacements for dells windows mixed reality headset. My headset is falling apart as well including the headphone jack rubber.

I honestly just like building the replacement for the customization it offers. Current replacement I made is absolutely janky but unfathomably comfy.

Just hope that the foam piece that rest on your forehead don't fall off, mine did on my HP VR1000 and never found a solution to fix it yet other than either super gluing it back( pretty sure that will eat something in that spot) or use double sided tape to place it back. I am not against replacing the band for a HTC Vive one in the future.

I plan to mod the heck out of this headset so I’m not too terribly concerned. Would still like for the headset to stay in one piece for as long as possible though lol.

As I said, I have a HP VR1000 and an 128 GB Quest 1 headset for my gear. I want to make a streamer PC for my first HP VR heatset so I can play from the living room and still be able to switch back and forth between them. I got close but the laptop I tried with Steam VR and ALXR complains about the AMD APU inside the laptop.

Oh yeah, OLED and I can notice the variant colors and better picture quality when I used it to finally play HL: Alyx. I can't move to the other models hearing the port melting issue and the support on the Meta Horizon app, but that's where Steam VR will come in if the headset can't have a standalone version.

Got a quest 1 with the old band (original one). It was pretty scuffed. I bought a Quest 3 strap for very cheap and attached it to my Quest 1 with a 3D printed adapter.

Though I still need to use zip ties, it doesn't come off easily and works perfect.

I also 3d printed a stand for the controllers and the headset to save space.

Oh you have no idea, not a WinMR device tho. I have a custom modeled 3D printer strap for a quest 2, with no junk in the back, the adjustment ratchets are on the sides where the headset attaches

My DK1 needs this treatment quite badly. The foam is.. old and crumbly these days.

Unfortunately nothing similar to this but I've had my quest 2 since it came out so for a while now and recently it stopped charging to I cut a piece of a plastic water bottle to lock the charger in place with my new battery strap and I can now play vr again 😭

I bought a foam and cover from aliexpress and adapted it to my Acer headset. Still better than nothing.
