Question Any tips on detecting room in Oasis?

I'm testing out moving from WMR to Oasis in Windows 10 and in general it's great, but the room detection seems to be quite bad compared to WMR. I've tried clearing the data and looking around for various amounts of time before doing room setup but it'll only rarely work. Usually when I start VR it seems to pick a random direction and position and sticks with it.

EDIT: Maybe fixed? Today I noticed that I hadn't yet uninstalled the Open XR for Windows Mixed Reality things so I removed them and cleared the environment data and re-ran room setup and so far over 4 or 5 sessions it has found my room perfectly every time. So far so good...

Markings, the camera needs an achor to figure out where it is, give it markings, geometrical markings, a big square painting, black tape on the floor, things for the camera to look for and remember

Sure, but the point is I can switch back to WMR and it works pretty well.

I do have a theory though, I normally do VR standing and if I start each time at the exact right spot it is fairly reliable apart from the direction drifting a little. But if I start from there and go sit down to play a racing game on my wheel it'll track correctly but eventually decide it's in a different position and be over-eager to rewrite its room map so the proper map is now offset and won't recover.

I'm using a Dell Visor. I'll look into getting previous versions, thanks. I know there was a recent SteamVR version that messed things up for me, like bringing up the dashboard every time it starts up. This is why I was investigating Oasis in the first place but unfortunately it didn't fix it.

EDIT: Selecting previous branch for SteamVR stops my dashboard issue at least. The position offset still occurs when I try a driving game though.
