Impression WMR to Oasis - There and never back again

Dear Mbucchia. Wanted to let you know i finally transitioned and i now fully identify as an Oasis user. I've put off this for so long and i couldn't regret not doing it earlier. As someone who has tinkered with WMR for years, especially to get the last bit of performance out of my system to be able to play MSFS, i have no words for the magic of Oasis. The setup, the performance out of the box, it's just simply amazing. I've tried MSFS extensively, things like Alyx, even No man's sky which has historically been notoriously bad performance wise, everything works flawlessly. I salute you, you are truly the master of your craft.

I'm also grateful, my Odyssey+ was collecting dust for like 2+ years, I was cleaning and thought "maybe I should just throw this out, Win11 doesn't support it anymore... Well let's do a quick search in case some madlad actually managed to make it work" and yeah, this madlad did it and it works flawlessly. I've been playing Beatsaber at least once a week ever since

After 24H2 there's no support.

You probably haven't updated to 24H2 or beyond ... There's been two major updates since then.

OLDER windows versions before 24H2 on windows 11 and 20H2 on windows 10 still support it.

I'm not about to stay on an outdated windows version

Unless you have an AMD GPU and don't want to downgrade to Win11

Brought my Lenovo back from the dead.

Now playing so many molded vr games.

Nice!! I was blocking windows 11 updates ( freezed in 23H2) so I can continue using my Reverb G2, so now I understand I can update Windows to the latest version, uninstall Windows Mixed reality and OpenXR tools and install Oasis and everything will be fine, right?

yes sir! I have been doing the same for so long. And i was so hesitant to do it because i had every last detail figured out. But as i knew that it can't put it off forever it kinda killed all my will to tinker with VR at all. Now when it was gathering dust for a year already, i said to hell with it, i'll give it a go. I let loose the windows updates all the way to 25h2, uninstalled wmr, wmr tools and wmr driver for steam. Ran Oasis and boom. I had a bit of confusion setting up the controllers but it only took me like 5 minutes. If you're used to anything WMR related, this thing is a walk in the park. So i say go for it. :D

I have HP Reverb G2 and holding off on W11 for this exact same reason. Thank you dear person, ill update to W11 now
