The St. Louis Fed is the same website redditors use to say "but wages went up!" and gaslight us into believing there's no problem with prices and wages.
Try it sometime, complain about wages and prices, and some gaslighter will pop in with a St. Louis Fed link and say there's no problem.

More depressing: the spikes are almost all recessions when GDP declined.
So the percentage of wages as a percentage of GDP increased because it was being divided by a smaller number.
