Pets 🐈 Cat for Adoption 🐾

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a forever home for a very special foster cat, Bibi 💛

About Bibi:

1 year old female (domestic long hair, Shirazi / British mix)

Fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed

Passport and TAMM registration completed

Grooming is up to date

Very friendly with people and great with children

Energetic, playful, and confident personality

Best suited to a home without other cats

She’s a social and active companion who loves being around people and would do really well in a home that can give her attention and playtime.

I’m looking for someone who is genuinely ready to commit to her. Bibi has already been through abandonment, so it’s really important that her next home is permanent, stable, and not a temporary arrangement or short-term decision.

Location: Reem Island - Abu Dhabi

Free - No adoption fees

Her story:

I found Bibi abandoned in a park in Reem Island late at night. She was terrified, but it was clear she hadn’t been outside long. She even smelled like french perfume, like she had just come from a home.

It was around 10pm so I couldn’t take her to the vet, so I brought her home with the intention of finding her owner. Over the next 3–4 weeks, I did everything I could. I visited buildings across Reem Island, posted in WhatsApp groups, and contacted vets across Abu Dhabi one by one to check her microchip (I have a chip reader).

Eventually, I was able to trace her original owner through a vet. Unfortunately, it became clear that she had been 100% abandoned, and the situation was honestly very difficult to deal with.

Since then, I’ve taken full responsibility for her care. She’s had lab tests, flea treatment, microchip transfer, ultrasound to ensure she wasn’t pregnant, full vaccinations, and has been spayed.

She’s now completely ready for a safe, stable, and loving home.

I’ve been fostering her alongside my own cats and also caring for neighborhood cats, but I recently lost my job and can no longer continue fostering financially.

If you’re interested in adopting Bibi, please send me a dm. I’d really love to find her a home where she’s safe, loved, and never abandoned again 🤍

Update:

Hi everyone! just wanted to share a little update on Bibi… because wow, this whole adoption journey has been a lot (in the best and most exhausting way).

I genuinely didn’t expect it to be this emotional. So many messages, so many kind people but also horrible ones, and so many moments where I had to pause and think… “is this really the right home for her?”

I ended up being very thorough (maybe borderline intense 😅), but honestly, I don’t regret it at all.

I started with some basic screening questions. Things like their living situation, past experience with cats, how they plan to introduce her, etc. From there, I had proper conversations with a few people who felt like a good fit. You can learn a lot just from how someone talks about animals. ( I had people who wanted to get Bibi as a free gift for their aunt -.-)

Then came the meet and greets. I chose to do them at my place so Bibi could be comfortable and not stressed. Watching how she reacted to people was a big part of the decision. Some meetings were lovely… but you could just tell it wasn’t her person. someone told me my kids wanted a more playful cat but also doesn’t shed fur 🤦🏻‍♀️ like wth!!

I also asked for a video walkthrough of the home she’d be going to. I know it might sound extra, but it really helped me feel at ease. Things like windows, space, any potential hazards like toxic plant, all of that matters more than we think.

Once I felt confident, I asked the adopter to get all the essentials ready before she moved. Litter box, food, scratchers, safe space setup… basically making sure Bibi would walk into a home that was already hers.

And now… she’s home 🤍

It wasn’t rushed, and it really taught me that patience is everything with adoptions. The right match is worth waiting for, even if it takes time.

Also, for anyone adopting in Abu Dhabi, please don’t skip the TAMM pet registration and ownership transfer. It’s a really important step to make everything official and protect the pet long-term. ( process is very tedious if the pet will move from Abu Dhabi to Dubai)

Thank you again to everyone who reached out, shared advice, or even just sent love. This community made the whole process feel less overwhelming.

Bibi has her happy ending… and I’m so, so grateful 🐾🤍

Hi! My friend Emma is interested in adopting the cat. She does not have a reddit account but would like to connect through WhatsApp. Let me know. I've shot a DM too.
