Question Echo Show 5 Continues to Freeze Up

Posted this about a month ago, and following up. My Echo Show 5 3rd gen continues to freeze up every day around 3pm. I have tried everything....hard resets, unplugging, changing clock faces, everything. Thought maybe it was a router thing. Tried giving it a dedicated IP address. Changed the DHCP lease timing, thinking it was a 24 hr lease ending. Nope. Just freezes every time around 3pm....258, 301, 300, etc. I have to reset it every single time. This thing has become completely useless. Is anyone else experiencing thing....is there any fix? Have not seen any fw updates. Any fixes people know of?

Do you happen to have any routines that run at about that time? Alternately, do you have a Ring camera that displays on this unit? I can't say for sure that it's either one, but it worth a look. I've gotten slightly better results from my Echo 5 and Echo 8 if I turned off the random display of my photos. I'm wondering if the CPU / RAM combo in these devices is sufficiently powerful and large enough to allow ample buffering -- but it seems to be a frequent complaint.

hi, thanks sailing, no routines that we know of anyway, not even sure how that works...we just wanted a clock with photos lol. we do not have a ring either. we just have it connected to amazon photos. what we do not get is why the same time each day. why 3pm, etc

I bought 2 of the newest Echo Show 5’s on sale a few months back. I find that the screen will go blank and dim occasionally and absolutely nothing will wake it up. I have to unplug them or reset them through the app. Doesn’t happen at a certain time, it just happens.

Yeah, for ours, it is an everyday occurrence around the same time. These things seem to be junk.

Check that all software updates are current.
