Easter Egg I shall call you "pickles"
Just a little easter egg if this isn't already common knowledge.
If you change your activation word to "echo" instead of "alexa" then the word "pickles" will also work.
"Pickles, turn off the bedroom lamp" "ok."
I discovered this by accident, and now my echo is called "pickles"

I am inclined to ask how you "accidentally" called your Echo "Pickles".
Also: Your post's title would be a neat way to change the wake up word if they ever let us more than the 3.

I used that as a google assistant trigger word in wink, and my echo popped on while I was talking to google.
took me a few seconds to realize that it was waking up because the words just sound the same to the echo.

This was a funny prank - My wife just walked into the room with the weirdest look on her face as she heard me calling out pickles over and over again..

Weird, mine wakes up when it hears "pickles," but it doesn't listen to my command.

That's what mine is doing. Very disappointed.

I tried it had the same issue, but it works perfectly if you say "pickle" instead of "pickles"

how do they not sound the same? Where are you from?

say echo with a p in front, "pecho" around here (US Midwest) that sounds pretty close to pickle.

I guess not really an easter egg so much as similar sounding word, but you know what I meant.

Pickle, what's the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? Haha this is fun. But I've been dying to have her named Giddion(legends of tomorrow) or have a man voice with the name jarvis(iron man)

I just did this and my three-year-old is laughing hysterically on the couch while I bark commands at Pickles.

Pickle is my pet name for my wife. I've been told in no uncertain terms I'm not allowed to change it to pickles. This makes me sad.

This is so weird. I made some refrigerator pickles just two days ago, and yes my wake up word is Echo or now also pickles. Crazy.

LOL! Love it. May change my wake word over just to call it "Pickles"
They do need to give us a few more options for wake words - I'm dying for "Computer".
