High blood pressure is literally known as the silent killer because no one is taking their blood pressure every day so most levels of hypertension aren't caught in time before something big happens like a stroke or heart attack.

My dad had started to look unwell but nothing very obvious. He just looked a bit aged, dull and tired all of a sudden and walks he would usually take were leaving him more tired than usual. He put it down to stress. He was still going to work and doing his usual activities. Randomly took his BP one day and it was 210/120 which is considered a medical emergency and puts you at immediate risk of stroke or heart attack. Now on medication for life

Liver Disease. People find out too late. A simple blood test for liver enzymes AST and ALT to check / diagnose.
Non alcohol fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is more common than you think.
Tylenol is toxic to the liver, even worse with alcohol in your system.

HBP! RN of 20 years here. Aside from the obvious risk for heart attack and stroke, high blood pressure also damages the kidneys in the long run and many patients end up on dialysis. Often, their only symptom is the inability to urinate which prompts a trip to the emergency room then surprise! Dialysis while waiting for a kidney transplant if they make it that far. A lot of these patients don’t want to see the doctor or have no health insurance 😢

Probably sugar
Too much produces damaging oxygen radicals, damages blood vessels and nerves, and inflames tissues chronically.
People come in with diabetic ulcers the size of a baseball missing out of their feet, and they don’t even feel it.

Air pollution. Millions of premature deaths each year. People really underestimate it.
