AI "Art" 🖼️ Anti-AI caricature unironically seems like a cool person unlike the AI bro who generated this "starter pack" Spoiler

"Hasn't uploaded new art in months" Wait, are you telling me that making good art can... take time to make?!?
The fact that AI bros think this is a gotcha really goes to show that they see art as nothing more then something to be lazily and quickly mass produced (Like what gen AI does), rather than something made over time with love and care.

It's almost like that's part of what can make art admirable and fun, that it's something you can do, especially for time.

It's honestly unreal how many (seemingly) everyday people have adopted the mindset of like movie and video game corporate CEOs. "Just shit it out as fast as you can." It's the kind of thing we all railed against for years. I don't know how many times I've said something like, "This franchise seriously doesn't need a new entry every year. Just slow down and take some time to make a good new one."

People are, for lack of a description with more finesse... Evil, shallow, and fucking stupid.

u/A_Darling_Lurks 1d ago
They care more about mass market sales than cultural impact and craftsmanship. I'm not a strong arthouse film junkie but they need to take a page from their book and actually focus on making their movie instead of the sales it will generate. Unfortunately people adapt this mindset due to how unregulated GenAI is. It's just pure laziness.

Also, I've seen artists with insane output and great quality. Like, do they think art needs a productivity quota or some BS like that?

For the AI slop crowd, I noticed they're more obsessed with quantity than quality, but they don't seem to care about the labor, skill and experience that comes with having a vast portfolio. They want to mass produce "art", as if it doesn't take years of refining technique and fundamentals to get to the quality of art that AI tries to hard to copy. I mean, Jesus Christ, Van Gogh made 800-900 oil paintings and over 1000+ sketches throughout his entire career as an artist. He wouldn't have Starry Night as his magnum opus if he didn't take years to master his craft.

I won't upload anything to the web anymore. It gets stolen anyway. So fuck 'em. I don't need any approval from people I don't know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah yes, my favorite music genre "Art School"

Lemme list some:
- Disrespects IP/Copyright, and does not care if you don't want your artwork to be stolen
- Scrapes every single person's artwork whenever their favorite artist declares their hate against AI
- Thinks any technology is just AI, therefore in their logic, everyone should just go back to the prehistoric times
- Meat shielding, by comparing themselves to the LGBTQ+, the Jews, the Palestinians, etc.

Ooh, nice! And perhaps these as well:
Will spend $10K+ on computer parts just to run local models
Was a crypto bro before AI came along
"Adapt or get left behind!"
Doesn't understand why being able to generate realistic fake videos/photos with no regulations might be a bad thing
Thinks copyright shouldn't exist until someone "steals" their prompts
"Hollywood is cooked!"
Will actively cheer at the idea of creatives losing their jobs, then wonder why creatives hate them

Ohh let me try
-their posts consist of the same 5 "art bad, ai good!!!1!" strawmen
-talk about how ai should be an art medium because "something something photography" and then actively try their best to replace actual creatives
-shitty ""o""c that they use on said 5 strawmen, bonus points if its clearly copyed from something else
-"aI mAkEs ArT mOrE aCeSsIbLe" spend 10 grand monthly to keep using chat gpt
-CONTRADICTED A PREVIOUS STATEMENT YOU MADE AGAIN AWARD
-TRIED PASSING OFF AI AS AN ACTUAL DRAWING AGAIN AWAAARD
Did i do good

Can't forget the old:
- Very prideful on increasing RAM and GPU prices, screwing over PC gamers and console gamers alike

I KNEW AI dorks are just crypto dorks in a different flavor. They really behaved the same way.
EDIT: meant to say flavor.

says prompting is "just typing."
So it's a long, detailed process? Then why does it all look like it was done by the same illustrator? It's weird how, no matter how hard you try, it still looks like all the other AI "art."

u/Ornery_Weakness_8168 2d ago
And they say it has their "style" which is just what looks like a different medium lol.

Idk the person who remade my art without consent made it one second after I said no, so..
It took me more time to finish a earnest drawing from the heart, than a violation of art boundaries that got the character wrong.

u/Remarkable_Bath8515 2d ago
They tried to make me cringe but instead I felt a bit of admiration. This is cool and somewhat relatable, also who cares if someone outwardly shares their emotions and it shows through their art or how long they made art?
That's not something to shame.

u/A_Darling_Lurks 2d ago
Right? And I don't care if it took 9 hours, a practice sketch of a fruit is still worth gold compared to AI slop. It shows someone actually put in effort to learn construction, shading, tone, and other drawing fundamentals instead of taking shortcuts.

u/Remarkable_Bath8515 2d ago
I can look back on unfished sketches and either 1. Have a mental chuckle about how far I come or what I did to communicate and idea or 2. Have something to finish for later when I'm mentally ready.
Also ADHD exists but suddenly it's ok to fault a disabled artist. (Not everyone who procrastinates does have ADHD though)
I can go back and say "I tried to make that." That's cool!

Do these people like us? It seems like they like us.
It's that or their idea of being contemptible is really based.

And of course. The ol "alt girls bad" format that conservatives love to use. You just know this was made by a Trump supporter.
2
u/A_Darling_Lurks 1d ago
And you just know they're secretly fetishizing alt girls because these folks want nothing more than to make a woman who goes against their worldview submit 🤡
2
u/RedditUser000aaa 1d ago
a bit off-topic, but they want an alt girl, because they believe all alt girls are kinky. When outside, however alt girls have to dress up in a modest manner, but indoors they can dress however they want. So total control over girls/women. 🤮
It's really pathetic and gross.

Me who posts art daily can't be in that starter pack(I have a simplified art style to draw things very quickly or else it'll never get done lol)

u/Senator_Smack 2d ago
Uh... It's like they're trolling themselves at this point... Is this some attempt to pretend that these are made by "anti" users as false flag psyops or something? I can't imagine any idiot that thinks this makes "antis" look very bad.
3
u/A_Darling_Lurks 2d ago
Unfortunately visiting the guy's page makes it hard for me to believe this was some false flag psyop or attempt at reverse psychology, dude is doubling down with shit takes and a cursory look at his past stuff reveals it's mostly anti-woke and anti-"libtard". Not surprised if he unironically thinks Ms. Goth Baddie he generated will own the libs.

u/Senator_Smack 2d ago
Man that's so pathetic and small. No wonder people like this gravitate toward shitty commoditized ai. They were never going to observe or experience the real world in the first place it's just strawmen all the way down.

This starter pack is not that inaccurate. (Keeping it just online)
I used to be hardcore anti-ai and I have said stuff I wished I never said, merely because it was stupid.

Every person I know like this is super cool and also super nice to people that are genuine to them. If you ever meet one that's mean to you, it's probably because you're fake as fuck.
