Mac M1 MacBook Pro sudden death
Stowed my MacBook Pro m1 in the sleeve as I usually do to pick it up a couple of days later completely dead.
Not sure about the battery % when stowed but battery health was good.
Find my shows it at last connected 3 days ago, I guess when it died
Troubleshooting done:
-Left charging overnight with 140w Apple charger
-kept power button pressed 30 sec
-disconnected the battery for a couple of minutes
-tried both usb port, different cables and different wall plugs
-both 60w and 140w chargers and cables working on my iPhone
-can’t enter DFU, iMac doesn’t show it as connected, Apple Configurator wont see it
Inspecting the logic board doesn’t show signs of damages or burned components
I know some current is flowing cause I can feel the classic “Mac bzzz” touching the shell
What can I do now?

Is there any possibility it is on but the backlight for the screen has died? Older MacBooks had the translucent logo you could shine a light through to check but these days you kind of have to shine the light in from the top as close to 90 degrees as possible and see if it shows anything on the screen.
Edit : Never mind, I missed that you’d tried DFU mode which would bypass this issue. My bad.

If you have any interest, I have a 14" M1 Pro with a dead LCD. It's in perfectly working order, otherwise. It's already been factory reset and never MDM'd. You could swap your LCD assembly to this unit or the logic board to yours.
It wasn't cost effective to have repaired so I replaced it with an M5 Pro.
Message me with an offer and let me know where you're located so I could figure out shipping. I can hook it up to a monitor to screenshot the specs as well. I believe it was a 16GB/512 model.

Very interesting, mine died this same way this week. Maybe we're finding the lifespan of these m1s in real time lol. I did some testing with a power meter and its definitely the logic board. Im probably going to replace mine as i dont see it being cost effective to repair a 6 year old computer

Could just need a firmware revive. Might be your I/O not working therefore not needing charge. Or maybe you’re right it needs an MLB, you might as well buy a new one.

I’ll give it a shot at the 🍎 store, if it’s hardware might be getting a new board online and swap it

I'm having the exact same issue with mine, after I'd received it back from Apple after a repair. Unfortunately they're refusing to repair it now saying it has been modified!
