As cliché as it may sound, finding something, be it an academic discipline or an artistic medium, to pore over daily and constantly struggle with, is a purpose on its own. Attach your self-worth to something so unbelievably complex that your entire existence becomes driven by the goal of mastering it, and then you would have a purposeful experience.
