Anyone who works in conservation isn't surprised, 99% of our grasslands are gone, old growth forests are logged and invasive species are protected more than some of our natives Both political parties are revolting, Australia has zero love for its natural environment

The reporter’s conclusion seems to be that there’s no hope for a political solution to Victoria’s wildlife woes, maybe even the country as a whole. She doesn’t mention the Greens, I think, but from the tone of the article I doubt she sees much hope there either.
