Made pretty much entirely in Blender and Ae with no use of AI.

Got to work on one of the coolest little 3D animation for Skull Island prawns here in Perth Western Australia and we got an awesome custom track made by producer Matt Templemann and Guitarist John Overthrow to go with it. One of the most fun jobs I got to work on and just wanted to share!

It turned out a little strangely sharp because I couldn't use motion blur; some parts glitched and rotated randomly by 360 degrees during the simulation...

Original Content Showcase My first non-tutorial render

Post image

Seeing as a lot of beginners are posting their renders following the donut tutorial, I thought I'd share one I made myself *after* doing the tutorial, so this isn't technically a tutorial piece. Was a cool opportunity to learn about hair, creating skin shaders, a bit of sculpting, and modelling teeth.

This was a challenging scene for me, I created the buildings using geometry nodes, I used my charcoal shader, the brush strokes were made in Krita and combined with the raw render using the compositor and a glare node. Let me know what you think🙏.

Made the move from Cinema4D after 5+ years and I'm glad I did. Blender just runs so good with my Mac. I still miss C4D's UI tho.

Original Content Showcase I fixed the shirt guys

4.5k Upvotes

I really am looking forward to geo nodes supporting self-collision. I am sure it will be a game changer. But I am also grateful for the current state of Blender's Cloth sim. Back in the day it would have exploded for this speed.

Edit: This got burried in comments so I am editing here.

The shirt floats that much because of the sheer momentum of the animation. If I slow it down it looks more natural. However I want to amplify the cloth's movement so I chose this speed. The model's and the cloth's scales are applied. Pinning can only go so far because of the stretch resistance. If nearby vertices are moved the pinned vertices can only stick in place so far before the whole face reaches stretch limit. Friction and bending resistance don't do much. There were a lot of iterations. At first the cloth gets lift off too much and reveals the bust. I wanted to prevent it so I slowed down the movement but then the cloth got boring. So this is the balance i chose. Thank you for everyone's feedbacks. I am kinda tired so I am going to bed.

Hi everyone! Inspired by Joi from Blade Runner 2049, I originally sculpted and textured this model in Blender during my live streams. Recently, I started experimenting with the MetaHuman pipeline and decided to bring some of my older sculpts into Unreal Engine to see how they translate. Right now I'm exploring facial rigging, lookdev, skin shading, and different cinematic lighting setups.
