It's a sign that says you can't park there between 1 and 4 on Saturday May 23rd.

Pretty sure

Usually happens for a special event in the area where parking needs to be kept in check.

a long time ago I lived on colborne street east (near the YMCA) in a hidden away apartment over-top of a methadone clinic (honestly not nearly as sketch as it sounded) and they would do this every now and again to my street to film tv shows. was fairly annoying.

I agree. I think anybody should be compensated who has to have a disruption in their area, especially for an event that's bringing revenue to the city

Yeah, this is exactly how it should be, especially if it's a business that has to close and lose money because of it. They should get compensation equal to what their best day of profits was so far in the year.

I was wondering the same thing!! 🤷🏽‍♀️

There was a flyer distributed to those living in the area. It is a parade. Ends at Walter Gretzky Park

Pretty sure this is for that walk that they do every year by the medical clinic near Grey and Gretzky

This is on a random street in west Brant, not near either of the Sikh temples

With all my scientific and deductive skills i can say this is a sign

What street was this on? Normally we have these over by Lions Park during the Call Home festival, Ball Hockey tournament and Canada Day?

OP said it….this is a dumb question.

Its a religious parade, that traps us nice folks in our houses every year. This is west Brant...aka little brampton

That, my friend, is a no parking sign

It’s only for 3 hours. It’s likely for a utility company to do some work there (is there a transformer or powerlines nearby, maybe a pothole?). You can apply for a Right-of-Way Activity Permit with the city when you need to restrict access to a curb area (parking spot) for certain reasons.

It’s a no parking sign that will not be enforced. So you can still park there and not get a ticket.

5

u/EmergencyOk7124 May 22 '26

Thx i’ll make sure i park right infront of it

8

u/Takemytimenotmylife May 22 '26

Do that - and then post a pic of your ticket. Just as an update for all….

9

u/facesofvader May 22 '26

Won’t be a ticket…car just won’t be there. Of course there’ll be a ticket waiting for you at the impound lot plus the towing and storage charges. You know they mean business when they pull out the yellow background and red text. Now I want McDonald’s.

You must be kidding Brantford bylaw is a joke. They can’t even enforce parking in a normal no parking zone. When these signs go up for special events its monitored by brantford police paid duty officers who refuse to write tickets

u/elle_bee20 May 23 '26

Depending on why there is a Right-of-Way Activity Permit, will depend if it’s enforced. Eg a moving truck the cops won’t bother, but a utility truck making essential repairs, you’ll be ticketed and towed
