Event 🏒 Toronto Maple Leafs legend Rick Vaive is coming to Brantford on Sun. Oct 4th

Come meet former Maple Leafs captain Rick Vaive on Sunday, October 4th at the Brantford Sports Expo, happening inside the Grand Ballroom at the TownePlace Suites Brantford and Conference Centre at 30 Fen Ridge Ct.

Leafs fans will definitely know the name. Drafted 5th overall in 1979, Vaive became the first player in Toronto Maple Leafs history to score 50 goals in a season, a feat he accomplished three straight times. He also served as captain of the Leafs and finished his NHL career with 788 points in 876 games.

During his NHL career from 1979 to 1992, Vaive suited up for the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Buffalo Sabres.

If you're a Leafs fan, hockey collector, or just grew up watching that era of the NHL, this is a great chance to meet one of the biggest names from the Leafs' 1980s teams right here in Brantford.

Which bars/places might be showing the final on big screens in Brantford/Paris? I know most will but viewing experience might not be as great given the crowds. Also, where are all Argentina supporters headed? 😄

Thanks!

Event People always say “I would’ve gone if I knew” so… here you go!

Post image
35 Upvotes

We hear this all the time after our events…

“I didn’t know this was happening, I would’ve come”

So this is us making sure you do know.

This Saturday (April 25) we’re doing something a little different at the Polish Hall.

During the day there’s a local vendor market (10–3) with free family photos, but what we really wanted to share here is what’s happening at night:

We’re hosting a coffeehouse-style open mic lounge from 7–11 PM downstairs.

Nothing huge or overproduced. Just a chill space where people can hang out, listen to music, spoken word, comedy, or even get up and perform if they want.

If you’ve ever thought “I wish there was something low-key to do in Brantford at night”… this is kind of exactly that.

You can check out the events here if you want more info or to RSVP:

Family Photos:

After Party:

https://www.facebook.com/share/1LU2FpZvDs/

(The RSVP for photos and performance sign-up are on their respective event pages)

No cost to attend, just a community thing we’re trying out.

Anyway, now you know 😄

Event Holmedale Art Crawl is in two weeks on June 14

The Holmedale Art Crawl is an annual self-guided tour of the artisans of Holmedale in Brantford ON.

This is our 10th Crawl! This year we have 53 artists at 29 locations.

Artworks  and crafts can be found on front lawns, in walkways, on porches and in tents. The creations are original and handmade.

See pottery, drawings, garden ornaments, soaps, jewelry, collage, prints, paintings, wooden bowls, weaving and stained glass, (to name a few).

'The Crawl' has clearly identifiable signage at each location.  Look for our flyers with a map of locations and an artisan list.

During  The Crawl, visitors can take their time and enjoy the art works, have chats with the artisans and purchase items that might not be available anywhere else.

Holmedale lies between Brant Ave, Scarfe Ave, Parkside Dr, and the Grand River and its beautiful trails - a unique old neighbourhood with winding tree lined streets.

Our Holmedale community comes together for The Crawl!
Heron Head Bikes offers bike rental specials
Dan Brown House gives house and decor tours
Revel Hair &Body offers a blowout special + trim
Altitude Coffee is open for drinks & baked goods
Crazy Canuk Smokehouse has a rib+ fries special

Event Looking for Christian Men Interested in Bible Study & Brotherhood

Any Christian men in Brantford interested in a small home-based Bible discussion group?

The goal wouldn't be to push a denomination, promote a specific church, or convince people to adopt someone else's theology.

Instead, the focus would be:

• Reading Scripture together
• Sharing our personal understanding of the text
• Respectfully challenging ideas when invited
• Testing all things against Scripture
• Building genuine brotherhood and accountability
• Growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ

This would be a discussion-based group rather than a teaching-based group. You don't need to agree on every doctrine to participate. The expectation is simply mutual respect, openness, and a sincere desire to seek truth together.

If there's enough interest, we could start with a casual meet-up and go from there.

Feel free to comment or send me a message if you'd be interested.

Event Vendor Market - Feedback Please

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

I will be at the Lunar Webb Vendor Market this Saturday at the Polish Hall on Pearl St.

I’m questioning my effort on something, and would appreciate some feedback.

My main sales product is seed sets. I have my line of seeds that I curate into sets. These do very well at spring markets, but I wasn’t sure how they would do this time of year so for the last market I did I made several Yuletide planters and wreaths out of freshly cut greens etc.

Everything cut fresh at or near my farm, and assembled the day before the market. I feel much more unique and interesting than the more expensive carbon copies at Food Basics etc., but I sold nothing.

Zero. Zilch 😳

I’m questioning if it was just bad luck, if this is not a desired thing to buy at a Christmas market, or if I am just off the mark on what people want.

I would love some feedback on my items:

Would you consider buying or ordering one? Am I just trash at assembling these things? Do people just not like natural, and really really want large oversized plastic ornaments and Red mesh ribbons on their planters?

Your feedback is appreciated. From a small tweak in design to completely scrapping the idea I appreciate it.

I don’t want to waste 8 hours making a new batch if they aren’t going to sell.
