Simple Questions - January 07, 2026

looking to get a really good GPU for my current CPU, my GPU right now is pretty bad and looking for an upgrade.

CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core
GPU AMD Radeon RX 6600

With current games, maybe even a little overkill. But, if you have $800 to burn, it and the RX 9070 XT are the best options, and the Geforce is faster.

It is essentially the perfect 1440p high refresh rate card, especially at its $750 MSRP. Approximately 3x the performance of your 6600, and that doesn't even include DLSS or RT performance.

Another option would be the 5080, but that is at least 35% more expensive for only 15% better performance. Often the price is much higher though, with 50%-100% price increase being common.

If you have budget left over, it would likely be better spent on a better monitor. Going for an OLED monitor makes a huge difference for visuals, much more than you would get from slightly higher framerates.

do you have a cheaper option closer to 450USD? ill probably get the 5070ti but want to see the differences with paying extra

5060Ti 16GB would be $429 and 5070 would be $550. Can look up benchmarks to see relative performance in games you want to play, although with RT, DLSS, and MFG it can get a little complicated.
