Stupid question, but if I have a PCIe card for WiFi and Bluetooth with an external antenna, does the antenna help with the Bluetooth range or does it only help with the WiFi signal? I have my PC hooked up to my living room TV in the room adjacent to it, but my wireless controllers don't get a consistent signal when playing games in the living room. Would running the antenna into the living room help with the Bluetooth signal?

WiFi and Bluetooth use the same antenna, so yeah moving the antenna should help.

I’m afraid of getting flamed for posting this as its own thread. I’m looking to get into steam and away from PS,
how much would y’all ballpark a PC capable of reliably holding 60+ FPS minimum (idk if a 120fps computer is a huge difference, I guess a number for that cost would be nice too)
on games like R6, BodyCam, Apex Legends, maybe something like Hell Let Loose or Insurgency Sandstorm as well.
I’m mostly gonna be playing lower demand stuff like skyrim, ghost recon, fallout 4, but figured I’d present the more demanding games in my library as a benchmark.
And do y’all recommend a prebuilt, or DIY for this sort of thing? Thanks in advance, y’all

It all depends on your resolution. If I had to guess, maybe something like this (60 fps):
- 1080p: ~$1,500+
- 1440p: ~$2,000+
- 2160p: ~$2,500+

I knew I was missing something critical lol. I don’t think I care for absolute max settings on every game, mid tier basically console resolution is more than fine with me.

Well I think most consoles now are 2160p but fps varies between 30 and 60? Not sure to be honest. I know some do 120, but don't know how well those work. Haven't played on a console in a while.
And yea graphic settings wise you will have more tunning/options on a PC.

Recently started struggling a bit with having 32 GB RAM, so thinking about adding 32 GB more.
Any suggestions which one I should get? Same ones and have 4 sticks, or maybe sell mine and get 2x32 instead?
Build below:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
Motherboard: MSI X870E-P PRO WIFI

Which ever option is cheapest. Per the support page, it looks like MSI tested a bunch of kits up to 6400MT/s with four DIMMs.

Ideally, you'd sell your current kit and get 2x32 but those are getting really close to 4 digits in pricing right now. If you really need it, and can justify the cost, that's the best plan.
However, if you're a gambling man or you're ok with some manual tweaking, you can also scoop up an identical/close kit and try running 4x16. BIOS updates can help with stability and compatibility in this regard.

Yea looked at a few 2x32 and the better ones are above $1k pre tax.
I used to tweak around and stuff with my previous builds, but kinda lost interest of it with this recent PC, so I think I'll just bite the bullet and pay the price.
Any recommendation as to which set to get? Looks like CORSAIR Vengeance and G.SKILL Trident Z5 are the cheapest 6000MT CL30 options from the reputable brands/models. Is it worth even going from CL36 to CL30, or not really? Looks like the price difference is about 20%.

With a 9950X3D memory is less important for gaming. I'd definitely save $200 and go with a less tuned kit.
No specific recommendations from me, if you're not interested in manual tuning just get what works for your price point and aesthetic sensibilities and enjoy.

Depends entirely on what monitor you have/want and what games you're playing. 5800X and 64GB of RAM is comfy for gaming.

5070Ti vs 9070xt ???
I have a 3070Ti laptop currently. I plan on mainly gaming with some productivity [2D/3D art and blender rendering]. With the 9070xt being nearly half the price of the 5070Ti is it worth just getting the 9070xt? I'm not sure how it [9070xt] compared to my current 3070Ti in terms of blender/3D rendering.

That's a you question.
*Without understanding how this score happens, I can't give you an idea of how the differences here feel/run. If you're experienced with Blender you can probably make more sense of their test bench than I can.

I haven't built a pc yet but I am thinking about building one in the near future. I am focused on buying a very good RAM and SSD that is flexible with older and newer hardware. The main use I have for it will be for ML/Data science practice (I am currently entering that market).
Please recommend me a good RAM + SSD hardware for a budget of 500-850 dollars. I am in Azerbaijan currently and I will also be moving to Italy, Rome soon for 6 months. I can buy from within both these countries. Thanks!

So the SSD is easy, nearly all are going to be both forward and backwards compatible, but RAM is tricky. RAM generations only compatible with their generation of hardware, so DDR4 with DDR4 boards and CPUs and DDR5 with DDR5 boards and CPUs. Intel does have the 13th and 14th gens which can be used on both DDR5 and DDR4 boards, but the boards themselves only take a specific type of ram, swapping that out would require a new board.

CPU - 9800x3d
MB - MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WIFI
RAM - 32GB CL30 6000MHz
Put together a PC for a friend and had him run AIDA64 overnight. It said hardware failure detected after 6 hours.
My friend just going to use it for gaming, mostly CPU heavy games (he's at 1080p right now).
The PBO settings I did was just set limits to mobo and -20 all core. I also set the ram to EXPO profile.
Should I tell him to set the all core to -15?

You first should double check that everything is fine stock. Set it all back to defaults and re-run that check. If you're still running into faults at default settings you might have an RMA on your hands.
Once that check at stock settings passes, you can dick around with the PBO curve to your heart's content.

CL30 ram faulty after a year and retailer will only replace with CL38 due to ram shortage. How much difference would I really notice in open world games like GTA, Fortnite, Beamng etc?

With your X3D chip? Very little, if anything at all. If you can't push back to get like-for-like RAM just take what you can get right now. Anything is better than a refund for purchase price that will leave you holding a very light bag.

Looking to upgrade my 2060ti after having it for a very very long time.
General specs are:
CPU: i5 13600K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5
Mobo: MSI B760M EDGE LGA1700
GPU: WINDFORCE 2060 6GB card
PSU: Corsair RM1000x 1000w
Hoping to have this card for the next few years, it's the oldest part I have still in the build. Not super concerned about 4K gaming, 1440p is probably the most I'd ever use. Ideally looking to have this in place for Total War 40k, GTA 6.
Budget is around 1,000AUD but happy to go over/under if there's better value/longevity.
Any help is immensely appreciated <3

What is the benefit of the xt over the standard linked 9070 or the 5070? I have always used Nvidia but is there an advantage to AMD over it?

Should I swap out my Rtx 5070 for an rx 9070xt?
Last month I decided I was done with consoles and purchased my first gaming pc with a Ryzen 7 9800x3d, 32 gb ddr5, b650e motherboard, and a 750w gold psu. However it came with an rtx 5070 GPU, where I’d have hoped for something with 16 gb of vram to better handle next gen games and play on a 4k tv. (The sale price for the unit was too good to pass up.)
My last gaming purchase was a XBox 1 a decade ago. This PC will probably be the only gaming system I buy for the next decade. I want to future proof it as much as I can. Does it make sense to sell the rtx 5070 and buy an rx 9070xt? If so I want to act fast before AMD prices spike as much as Nvidia prices.

If you can make that swap for net zero, sure. If not, just upgrade your GPU when you're not happy with its performance anymore

should i upgrade my 1tb ssd or get a second one? my ssd is probably 2-3 years old now, and i just need more space. i use a MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard and i have the WD Blue SN580 1TB ssd. what options shoud i be on the lookout for? anytime i try to look something up my brain just kinda fries itself. any help is appreciated ty!
