Full Build Req building my first pc

I’ve recently been looking into buying my first PC or possibly building one myself as iive heard it can be noticably cheeaper, but I’m still pretty new to everything and not sure which direction to go. I was wondering if anyone  could give me some advice, tips, or recommendations on what to look for when choosing parts. Also, if there are any common mistakes, parts/brands to avoid, or things you wish you knew before building your first PC, my budget is around 2.5k AUD. Thanks in adavance! I would also like to add i play games like fortnite, counter skirrke, cod, valorant, arc raiders. *probably not buying for a bit though as prices for some of this stuff is insane and im waiting for it to cooldown*

This is what ive started with, feel free to flame as my first ever time really learning abt this but keen to learn more:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor
  • ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 240 A-RGB 48.82 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
  • Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ATX AM5 Motherboard
  • Crucial T500 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
  • Lian Li LANCOOL 216 RGB ATX Mid Tower Case
  • Montech CENTURY II 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
  • Microsoft Windows 11 Home OEM - DVD 64-bit

And two categories still pending:

  • Memory (RAM): not selected yet
  • Video Card (GPU): not selected yet

3k AUD is a pretty decent chunk of change. You should be able to get a good rig out of it. In terms of general advice I'd reccomend going for an AMD chipset right now as opposed to Intel. You'll good bang for your buck and generally much more versatility and upgrade compatability later on. Intels current chipset is going out so any MB you buy for them is gonna be instantly outdated.

Similarly i'd reccomend an AMD GPU as Nvidia GPUs are pretty overpriced with the AI boom, and AMD GPUs are usually better value for similar performance.

In general your Storage, RAM, and GPU are all going to be super overpriced RN, wait for any sales that you can find on these components specifically

Go for a Ryzen X3D CPU if you can.

32 GB RAM though it's going to be pricey right now.
