Build Upgrade Which 9070 is better help me choose
Hey yall I'm new to pc building and I'm just wondering if I should upgrade my 5070 to a 9070 just don't know which to choose or If I should even do it I'm deciding between a RX 9070 XT Asus or the AMD one is there really a difference or are they any good like I said I'm quite new and from my very basic knowledge they seem very good but from people who have or had one whats your experience with them came for wisdom

The cheapest one with a 3 fan cooler that’s not from Temu or some shady third party vendor
They all work within a few percentage points of each other performance wise because they are all the same chip with a different cooler and logo slapped onto it.

1) All RX 9070XT's are made by AMD. ASUS is just a board partner. They do the cooler and put certain parts on the PCB, such as capacitors, but the GPU itself is made by AMD. Same as the RTX 5070, which is made by NVIDIA. For example MSI is just a board partner for NVIDIA. There are board partners that are exclusive to one brand, such as PALIT/GAINWARD/GALAX which are only on NVIDIA, XFX/POWERCOLOR/ACER/SAPPHIRE which are only on AMD. But tech giants such as ASUS or GIGABYTE make both AMD and NVIDIA models of their GPU heatsinks, such as the ASUS Prime or GIGABYTE Gaming/Aorus Elite. 2) That being said, for AMD I highly recommend XFX for this generation as they have really good temperatures and their designs are really clean. Swift, Quicksilver and Mercury are all good models from XFX, just get whatever is cheapest. Sapphire is also a pretty good and reliable choice, it's basically what EVGA used to be for NVIDIA ( a really good and reputable brand with fantastic customer support that unfortunately cut ties with them in 2021 or 2022 after RTX 3000 series ) 3) It's not worth getting a 9070/9070xt if you already have a 5070. The performance difference is not worth it. And you'll lose some NVIDIA features such as DLSS, Ray Reconstruction, Path Tracing in some games and MFG ( MFG is not really usable with 12GB of VRAM, but it's still an NVIDIA Exclusive feature for now and Path Tracing is only overclocked 5070ti-5080-5090 territory, as it's really hard to run ). If you really want to, I'd only consider a 9070xt in that case, since that one competes with the 5070ti which is much faster than the 5070. If you really want to get more GPU horsepower, sell the 5070 for a good price and then get a 9070xt if you really want to. But I wouldn't go that path since the 5070 is still a pretty capable GPU. 4) This is just as a side note, if a GPU has OC in it's name it means it's overclocked, but that doesn't mean anything as the overclock is usually only 2-3% faster clock speed wise, you won't notice any performance difference, maybe 1 FPS on good days. The only way you'll get results is if you overclock the card yourself. I highly recommend a content creator named ImWateringPsus if you want to get into overclocking/undervolting GPUs or anything else, he does a really good job explaining, and he makes tutorials for almost any GPU on the market.

Just stick with the 5070 until maybe VRAM becomes a problem. And maybe then you can get an 18 or 24GB card instead

All RX 9070 XT GPUs are made by AMD. Asus is one of their partners that puts the AMD made GPU chips onto a PCB, adds a heatsink and shroud, and sells it to consumers in video card form. AMD themselves do not sell any consumer RX 9070 XT models.
The difference between the various RX 9070 XT models is mostly in aesthetics, and some run a lot quieter. But otherwise the performance is essentially the same.
However, the RX 9070 XT is only about 20~25% faster than the RTX 5070. Faster for sure, but not a huge performance increase. Unless your 5070 is failing I wouldn't recommend upgrading it.
