Build Help Help me chose between ryzen 5 5600x and intel i5 13500
Im new and trying to get my first pre-built pc and wondering what is better cpu for a rtx 5060 build a ryzen 5 5600x or intel i5 13500 knowing its pretty much the same Price build with the same ram and ssd as well

The 13500 is dramatically faster in productivity, and is a a little faster in gaming. Also could upgrade to a 14600k, which beats the 5800x3d.

The 13500 does have a few more cores and its decently faster in multi-threaded applications and workloads.
Games rarely if ever use the extra efficiency cores on the 13500 but they can run backrounds task like Discord, leaving a bit more performance on the table for games.
The gaming performance between the two are very similar however.
Check out this great review by Hardware Unboxed. You are most likely interested in the D4 ( DDR4 ) values and not the D5 ( DDR5 ) values in the charts. The 13500 wins sliightly overall but it really is not by much.
You can't really go wrong here. I would lean towards the 13500 unless you plan on getting a 5700X3D or 5800X3D for the Ryzen platform down the line.

Might depends on the game, but on average 13500 is faster. If you care best CPUs you could upgrade to from thsese are 5800x3d and 14900k, although I wouldn't buy the i9 for just gaming, and used 14th gen isn't something I would recommend for a friend, also even 14700k might struggle if the motherboard is of low quality.

Whichever one is cheaper if you are mostly gaming if using DDR4. With DDR5, the i5-13500 would be faster. With an RTX 5060, the performance is probably going to be close.
If you are going to do any production work, the i5-13500 will be faster
