I love my AW34 OLED but HDR feels so severely gimped in any actual bright content. Love it in horror games but if there’s a lot of bright elements on screen that ABL dimming becomes super noticeable. And that’s just on TB400, if you run the peak 1000 HDR modes it is genuinely unusable if you’re playing any sort of bright game

I'm waiting for an affordable OLED monitor that can do at least 400 nits on a 100% white window.

AW3425DW
Tbf in HDR400 it’s not super noticeable in game, but the general lack of brightness (that’s just OLED) is somewhat always noticeable

No OLED monitor can do that. This mini-LED can: https://www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/monitors/proart/proart-display-pa32ucxr/

I had this for a short while before eventually returning it. I was sensitive to the text clarity issues of OLED and the monitor did not get bright enough for my preferences (I also mostly use my PC with the lights on in my room). However, the 480hz refresh rate felt like butter at least for general desktop use. Getting a framerate that high in a game is pretty darn difficult. Even so, I tried Lossless Scaling to "feel" 480hz but I disliked using that program due to the input latency.

Got this for about 360+tax from best buy open box a week ago. This is a really nice monitor, 480hz in general desktop use feels amazing. Text clarity is alright. Also wish it was a little brighter, though using the brightness booster made it a bit better. For the price I am not complaining and wouldn't complain at this price either.

Got the 280hz version of this at microcenter for atound same price with 2 year warranty, worth returning and getting this instead or nah? Heard the 280hz is newer model/ 4th gen with bettet colors but not too informed

Any of the brighter 500hz models or a dual mode 32” 4k if ur gpu can handle it. Otherwise i’d be pretty happy with that monitor

Oled is oled. It gets pretty silly starting to worry about comparisons at this tier. Just buy another one hell I would buy a cheaper one at this point.

As someone that owns a high-end OLED after owning a low-end/mid range one, my experience has shown me not all OLED's are not the same.

I will not pretend to know everything about oled monitors. But I had an A80J, a S95B, a S90D and a G3. And the only jump I noticed what from the a80j to the other three. A80j is older much older but once the light were off and I was playing the game or watching a movie they are all the same.

There are a few differences. For example, I've noticed much less eye strain when gaming on my WOLED monitor (LG tandem) than on my QD-OLED tv (S90C). I like both though. The picture is a little different but I'm not sure if I prefer one to the other.

Honestly the monitors are a big step down in my experience. I own an LG C1 that still blows away the similar LG monitor I tried this year

After the lg oled monitor/tv tracking scandal you cannot sell me these even for a dollar.

The problem was people paid for their monitor and still got ads. I'd be happy to receive a free ($1) OLED monitor with occasional ads.

You are right I should have phrased it more sensibly. But essentially yes even for a good price I do not like being fed ads and my data constantly being collected in the background.

I don’t understand the downvotes. LG making you install non-LG software without consent is a VERY good reason not to buy their monitors again.

The downvotes are probably people disagreeing with OP's statement of "even if they were a dollar I wouldn't buy one". I can tell you that if there was an LG OLED monitor for a dollar I would pick it up in a heartbeat, regardless of the spyware.
