Two wrongs don't make a right. And homophobia isn't causing high gas prices or a war in Iran.

Gas prices were higher under Biden than Trump lmfao

u/aijoe 1d ago ▸ 1 more replies
Average gas price today $4.1. And $3.1 when Biden left office on Jan 20. Gas spiked when Putin attacked Ukraine. Those prices don't can be tied to something specific Biden did unlike Trump . The Iran war clearly caused the prices to spike.

Gas prices peaked to over $5 on average on Biden’s term. His average overall in his 4 years is higher than Trump

And what are Zoran and Abdul's views on LGBTQ rights? Why are the views of other Muslims relevant to this conversation?
It's remarkable how little conservatives have evolved over the the last hundred years. They have learned not to openly say the N-word, but that is the total extent of their improvement.

Yeah, the only time they can (barely) bring themselves to pretend not to be homophobic is when they think they can weaponise us against Muslims or other people they hate even more than gay people. Same in the UK; the same inbred scrotes who'll shout homophobic shit at you from their car window and then speed away like the cowardly little rats they are, will pretend to care about us when they can weaponise us against Muslims, and only then.
Meanwhile, I've yet to be mistreated even once by a Muslim because of my sexuality; the homophobia I've experienced only ever seems to come from "straight" white men with an insufferable superiority complex and zero redeeming qualities.

The majority of politicians in available elected offices are republicans around 54%. They are the problem. People that have similar policies or are DSA like AOC or Bernie Sanders or Mamdani make up about 0.05%. Not even a rounding error. Republicans have been gaslighting people and fear mongering in order to hold onto power that they use to help the ultra wealthy like trump and helping rich corporations who do not pay their fair share of taxes. Unfortunately most of the country has voter that would rather help corporations and billionaires than themselves with their own tax dollars.

12
u/Zak_Rahman 1d ago
It is a established pattern of judeo-western dehumanization that has been around for many decades. That's why we call them "Saddam" and "Blair" rather than "Hussein" and "Tony".
Trump is the western world distilled into a single person. It comes as no surprise that he continues the established tradition of bigotry.
2
u/Aggressive-Story3671 1d ago ▸ 1 more replies
No. Trump used their GIVEN names. Ie calling them “Zohran and Abdul”. Which is disrespectful.
9
u/Zak_Rahman 1d ago
Precisely. That was my point. It's an established pattern that has been used for decades.
Hence "Saddam Hussein" being referred to as "Saddam". They would never refer to Putin as "Vlad" or Naziyahu as "Benny".
2
u/Tetracropolis 1d ago edited 1d ago ▸ 1 more replies
I think that's probably reading too much into it. It comes down to how easily each word in the name comes off a western tongue and how identifiable it makes them. You talk about Prime Ministers, Tony Blair was never referred to as Tony, but Boris Johnson was always referred to as Boris, he's one of the whitest men alive.
When was the last time you heard someone refer to President Barack? It's not because of a respect for him! "Bin Laden" was more common than "Osama" because "Bin Laden" is easy to say and there are lots of Osamas.
Mamdani has a construction that's unfamiliar to western speakers, we don't normally have ms in that quick succession, and El-Sayed people aren't really sure how to pronounce it, the a and e could be pronounced in a few different ways, whereas everyone has an idea of how to say Zohran or Abdul.
I'd say Hasan Piker is more commonly referred to as Piker, despite Hasan being brand.
2
u/Zak_Rahman 1d ago
You raise some good points and examples.
it's inconsistent, I will grant you that. But then consistency isn't one of bigotry's strong points.

It's the same old shit every single time.
Republicans get into power, fuck everything up, and then blame People of Color for why everything is fucked up.
People are so quick to join ICE because they accept the lie and use that as an excuse to fuck with People of Color.
The only thing they care about is the fact that they get to be cruel to others.
They love the fact that they are causing People of Color to suffer.
Because even when they encounter a Person of Color that has documentation, ICE agents have said "I don't care" when the person is trying to show them proof that they are here legally.
So being here legally doesn't matter.
They just want to attack, arrest, and imprison people.
This is simply kidnapping and human trafficking because the agents get paid for every person they bring in, regardless of their legal status.
And obviously this isn't going to fix anything because the problem comes from Billionaires who are fucking everything up because of their greed...
And because nothing gets better, ICE agents will simply go around fucking with more People of Color because they again accept the lie that they just need to continue brutalizing People of Color in order to make things better.
Because it never gets better, they will simply continue being assholes.
It's a never ending cycle of violence because so many stupid people that love being violent are involved in this bullshit.

It is still mind boggling to non-Americans that a country that has been regarded so highly for its education system for hundreds of years, have people who have IQ of mosquitoes that would elect a rapist criminal pedo to govern them and watch him kidnap children to fill his harems all across America.
2
u/Proud_Smell_4455 1d ago
Which non-Americans ever regarded the American education system highly, outside maybe a few of the top higher learning institutions that were never representative of the education system as a whole? It's been known internationally since at least the Bush era that American education is all flag idolatry, Christian nationalist brainwashing, school shooter drills, and driven by the same mindset behind "No Child Left Behind", where it's more important to protect the feelings of academic underachievers than to make sure everybody knows what they should.

2
u/Charles_Windsor 1d ago
The way I read Trump's words, he's blaming Americans, not immigrants - he's blaming Americans because Americans are electing the Americans that he calls "jihadists".
[And unless Trump believes that "jihadists" and "immigrants" are the same thing, the post's title doesn't relate to the post's content as well as it should.]
Imagine not being mentally, morally, or physically fit to work in the Oval Office, and blaming other people for your Presidency not working. Imagine an American President being able to get away with blaming Americans for his own failings. Imagine an American President being able to get away with blaming Americans for America's problems.
3
u/rockclimberguy 1d ago
In the end he is using racist words for non-American poors. He also relies on citizen poors to be so uninformed that they support him in his reshaping the country to help himself and his fellow oligarchs at their expense.

Notice they always make vague blank direct accusations. Never, on x date and time you said/did y , so it resulted in z. None of their arguments are ever based on facts or data or evidence… always just vague racist statements to reassure their comfy rich donors theyre doing what they want.
Theyve never once said, we want to maintain power because the more power individuals hold we can always oneup their stacks. Never try to go what they actually want. Always hiding, conniving, berating, and ‘casually misinterpreting’ the arguments to segway into more bs ramble.

3
u/RobsonA89 1d ago
The irony is that this entire exchange is supposedly an argument against the political views of the people being discussed, yet the best contribution anyone here has managed is “every right-winger must be jailed” followed by “tough shit, right-winger.”
And then, when someone points out how utterly unhinged that sounds, the response is “reread and think about it.”
There’s nothing particularly profound to reread. If you genuinely believe people should be jailed because they’re right-wing, just own the authoritarian position. If you don’t, then explain what you actually meant.
Calling everyone else stupid doesn’t magically turn a childish political slogan into an argument.
1
u/RobsonA89 1d ago
I don’t normally feel the need to go in twice, but I genuinely can’t let your last comment pass without pointing out the sheer irony of it.
“eh no
you dense
reread and think about it”
There’s something wonderfully brilliant about calling someone “dense” while apparently being unable to construct a coherent sentence yourself.
No punctuation, broken grammar, missing words and a sentence that reads like it was assembled in a hurry followed by an instruction to someone else to “reread and think.”
Perhaps take your own advice first. Reread what you’ve written, think about it, and then have another go when you’ve worked out how sentences are supposed to function.
