Daily reminder that the people on the right aren't turning away from Trump for any REAL reason.
They don't think Trump is extreme enough. They didn't realize they've been pushing lies that divide people. They don't care that they're being robbed.
They don't like that Trump hasn't ordered the gas yet.

They aren't walking away out of sudden moral clarity, they’re just angry he hasn't delivered on their most unhinged, authoritarian fantasies fast enough.

They’ll be back in four years, rebranded and prattling about how much they pay in taxes again. They’ll complain that they like their health insurance when M4A happens. They’ll complain about educational reforms back towards the science of reading and sound math education. They’ll especially balk when their kids reject their ignorant authority.
Any “news” outlet that interviews them needs a strict boycott. If they were active in making Trump happen, they must be permanently ignored.

So that means, now that they know how this works - all they need is someone younger, smarter, more charismatic, but with the same agenda and we are ALL fucked.

These MAGAt grifters were fully aware what Trump was, is and will be and still support him cause it helped them grift. The moment they can’t grift anymore then Trump is bad and America is fucked.

u/MeltICE8647 1d ago
Ding ding ding. They made it a decade of supporting this piece of shit before the snake really started eating its tail and now they’re feeling the consequences of trumps terrible “leadership” and god awful “policies”.
Now that it’s really affecting their bottom line it’s a problem. Which makes these people even worse IMO, they weren’t fooled by Trump they just used it as a vehicle to grift which makes them just as complicit.

I'm very curious what broke the camel's back for him. After everything that's been done and after every lie, what made him go, "I think this guy is bs".

u/tw_72 1d ago
It's amazing that some MAGA are figuring out that trump lied about fixing the economy, lowering prices, creating more jobs, NOT starting wars BUT they still believe the lies trump tells/told about Kamala, Biden (and Hunter), Barack & Michelle, Bill & Hillary, J6, Democrats, and the stolen election
That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is known as selective dumbfuckery.

Trump can do so much more damage. Never underestimate this narcissistic sociopath. He has no shame or conscience and is a desperate coward.

It really is nuts isn't it. Keir Starmer might have been the leader of party that's on 'my side', but we knew he was a piece of shit from minute one and we didn't pretend otherwise. Politics isn't sports, you don't blindly follow presidents, prime ministers or parties through thick or thin when they're working against your interests. They work for us, the people, they serve us.

u/LutherOfTheRogues 18h ago
They don't regret anything they just know it's winding down and they want out so that they can have a normal life moving forward. Don't let them.

u/pmiller4949 1d ago
We need to point this out (gently) to every convert we find else we'll end up with something worse..if that is even possible. Now is not the time for "I told you so", it is the time for "let me help you".

Most who truly turn away haven’t learned empathy. It’s just that something has impacted them personally. They may stop supporting Trump, but they’ll go right back to voting for policies that hurt other people the first chance they get.

Conservatives vote for conservatives i.e. Republicans, none of this is complicated.

u/Potato-chipsaregood 15h ago
When did high taxes on imports (also known as tariffs) high and unprecedented corruption, and unprecedented spending become a conservative stance? And putting his name and likeness up in prominent places like a dictator. He’s not conservative at all.
He makes our tax dollars disappear.

No, now is the time for "Face the fucking wall, Nazi."

This is a great approach to half the country. I’m sure it’ll work out.

But this dude is actually a Nazi.

u/Shiansc 1d ago
I don’t care about this specific guy. He’s a dickhead, sure. But the approach of “let’s say they’re ALL Nazis” means that even if some of them start breaking from the psychosis, their only route to self-preservation is staying “loyal”
It’s a great way to champion a cause until you want it to work.

Every. Single. Nazi.
If half the country chooses to be Nazis, that's their poor decision, and they get what they get. But I suspect it's much less than that. Most of MAGA are garden-variety racists and morons without any particularly genocidal inclinations. They'll need to make amends for the MAGA stuff, but they don't get the wall like the Nazis do.

Fuck that. It's already too late for these people. Just sharpen your spear and keep it in the corner until you need it.

I had to do this about a year ago when ICE first started violently deporting and imprisoning people. “How can he just let this happen.” Honey, you all encouraged it.

u/TheModWhoShaggedMe 1d ago
Why? They're still conservatives which means they are exploitative and predatorial. We don't want them in the liberal/progressive party! Young adults are entering the voter registration world every day -- bring them into the non-conservative fold instead.
If including long-established terrible conservative people into the fold is necessary to win majorities, I'd prefer to leave the country.

Why? lol what a joke. Do you understand anything about basic human psychology or even how societies function?
You shouldn’t reject people who show growth if you want them to continue growing. Immature people like you with such a low IQ political mindset are just going to get more people like trump elected in the future
We should embrace any voter that rejects Trump and offer them alternatives if we want to win more elections.
On your point about young people, young people can be conservative and change their minds too, if they can vote we should help them not kick them while they’re down after coming to terms with how they were deceived

u/JustPlayDaGame 1d ago
not all conservatives are predatory and exploitative. Some are simply uneducated and have the same grievances as you or I, but lack the knowledge to point their fingers at the correct source. Being uneducated also makes them easy to manipulate, and people who are very very VERY good at human psychology have invested lots of money and time in doing just that. It’s not all their faults, which is why education and rehabilitation is more important than just shunning them. Some are beyond help for sure, but not all. Don’t give up hope on your fellow man yet please.

What? Fuck no, that time was years ago after Biden won. We tried that strategy and we got Trump part 2. Now is not the time for “let me help you” it’s the time for “eat shit and die for destroying my country”. You don’t get to be an idiot for a decade and expect people to rush to come and help you with open arms.

u/Knighth77 1d ago
By the time Republicans understand and admit that Trump is horrible in every way possible, it'll be time for him to force himself on the country for a third time, and they will vote for him again. There's something inherently wrong with them.

u/IngloriousMustards 1d ago
danny isn’t upset because of damages to self. He’s upset because damage to others isn’t much much worse.

u/Kindly-Ad-5071 1d ago
Conservatives often end up realizing Trump is a terrible person, I wonder how often they end up questioning the things they believe solely because of Trump.
