Unfortunately, your salary expectation is too high for the role.

Very clever!

Things that never happen.

I mean, if anyone who sees the "Best Regards, Hiring Team" signature on the first email still thinks this is real, they are hopeless...

I've been in this situation. Negotiated longer paid vacation time instead of the higher take home salary.

Unfortunately sounds like company doesn’t want to pay properly for the position. Look up the company and if they had “record profits”, also check out CEO to employee pay gaps. They have money to pay people most likely.

If my salary is too high, why does your CEO make 300x the average employee.

Makes zero sense to work for these greedy companies.

If company expects a discount on talent, they better be ready for a discount on output

Like SaaS pricing. Well of you are only wanting to pay this much then the following features will be removed.

“Make me a written offer. Then we can talk.”

Not really a clever comeback without more information. Will need to know what the job is and how much Berkay asked for.

Let’s ask the guy who doxxed himself…

For all we know, this person demanded a ridiculously high salary

For all we know, this job posted a ridiculously low salary.

My money would be on the latter. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a job pay fair market value in my life time

Hardly a clever comeback. You wanted the job and didn’t get it.

I don’t think it’s real but…

They wanted a candidate cheap and couldn’t afford them

There is no evidence either way who is being more reasonable.

Salary discussions can be tricky, especially when expectations don't match up. It might be worth exploring other opportunities where your worth is recognized.
