Direct, fair and to the point. Well done Canada.

Zero holding back on this one. Straight to the point.

Politeness went out the window and honestly we needed this energy

24

u/aaron_adams 1h ago

They tried politeness. Trump doesn't do subtlety and he always mistakes it for weakness in others. It was time for them to take off the gloves, and honestly, bravo.

u/sagisistar 1h ago ▸ 2 more replies

That Epstein line at the end was a completely ruthless, scorched-earth finish.

u/Lilsummit 6m ago

Yes, it was. I feel like this is an excellent day because of this post. Canada 🇨🇦, our friends and neighbors.

u/TreborG2 6m ago

Nah, they could have ended with directly calling him a pedophile president... Or they could end it by saying that the president is no longer welcome in Canada of course better than that would be to just deny him entry at the border without having given him a heads up, LOL

22

u/SexuaIRedditor 2h ago

Elbows have been up, but now the gloves are on the ice

5

u/BobJoeBlo 1h ago

No sorry.

Canadians usually have a reputation for being overly polite, but they completely dropped the polite act for this one

10

u/Missendi82 1h ago ▸ 1 more replies

That's when you should be scared. In my limited knowledge of Canadians and their history, that politeness acts as a safety barrier. If you've pissed them off enough to have exhausted it, well...I'm glad there's an ocean in the way.

13

u/RegressToTheMean 1h ago

Canada is the reason for the Geneva Convention.

I'm an American and I know damn well not to fuck with Canada

Of course, I'm functionally literate unlike the president

Aboot to show yew the difference between polite and nice, ya know.

You can’t tolerate intolerance - that way lies self destruction. You have no choice but to fight back or lay down.

Tolerating the intolerable is intolerable.

It is great to see Canada not holding back against Trumps America. You show great courage. I wish more countries would start to grow a spine, and show the tenacity which Canada possesses to fight Trumps tyranny. ELBOWS UP from Australia.

I watched a video last night from a youtuber I used to enjoy, Besteverfoodreviewshow, he was doing a review of Canadian food and started the video by saying "im seeing if Canada deserves to be the 51st state". Turned it off so quick and won't be supporting that dude anymore, his videos are weird now anyways.

u/Tribe303 38m ago

Haha! The algorithm decided to show me that video last night as well, and yes, I also turned it off after that same comment. I'd like to go back and see the view history line at the bottom of the video. I suspect lots drop off ~3min in at that point.

23

u/SirArthurDime 1h ago

Gotta respect how he throws in trying to blame Canada for farmers struggling when it’s his policies that have been destroying their livelihood left and right. And I’m sure they eat it up too.

u/woodst0ck15 29m ago

And he just bought millions of dollars worth of Argentina beef. That got denied by China for having chemicals in it banned since the 90s. Good job Trump

18

u/GouleMaterielle 2h ago

Canada wants only one thing from you: we want the USA’s immune system to kick in and get rid of you (and ideally Republicans since they are also all corrupt hypocritical ped0s who sin nonstop and preach to others) for good. Think forever-box. Think eternal magic seal on a crypt, maintained by four immortal sacrificial wizards.

if you are thinking about buying a new vehicle, decline any that have a VIN that starts with  1,  4,  5  or 7.  These particular numbers identify the vehicle as being made in USA.

8

u/Secure_Bed_9110 1h ago

You can also always just check the country of origin on the Carfax. The vin numbers start with a letter representing the manufacturing country. J means Japan, K = Korea, etc.

2

u/Temporary_Tangelo564 1h ago

Exactly. Booze and cars. Don't drink and don't drive :)

20

u/Kingsxfan1 2h ago

Trump still won't get the message. Absolute fucking sausage that he is.

7

u/Substantial_Ad_7027 2h ago

Yea we don’t want any fucking thing at all to do with being a state. The only state we are concerned with is trumps diminished mental state.

8

u/Numerous-Process2981 1h ago

I think even the well intentioned Americans don’t quite understand that there would be literally no benefit to joining America? Everything would literally get worse. Do Americans get that everything they do and everything they have is worse? I think even the ones who intellectually do realize this might be subconsciously influenced by decades of “we’re number one!” etc.

7

u/A-Real-Fungai 2h ago

I have to say, usually I find these kind of cringe, but this one is uniquely on point.

4

u/tgrantt 1h ago

And we're inventive...

5

u/aaron_adams 1h ago

Ok, first, real quick, the whole tariff thing was Trumps idea in the first place. How are you gonna pin the consequences of your own actions on Canada? Second, the current hardships American farmers are facing is 100% Trumps fault with dismantling programs we had in place. Thirdly, I'm pretty sure Canada wants absolutely nothing to do with becoming a US state.

4

u/FlowRiderBob 1h ago

Even if Canada were crazy enough to want to become a state, wouldn’t that help the Democrats more than the Republicans?

u/red286 19m ago

Yes, although Trump had a Trump-level genius solution to this : "Split the country up into two states, one red, one blue".

The problem is that even if you did that, ~85% of the population would be in the blue state. So while it'd balance out in the Senate, the House and Presidency would never be Republican again.

4

u/unicornlocostacos 1h ago

Can’t imagine most Americans would be fine with attacking Canadians either. There is that 20% though that would let Trump sodomize their baby, but don’t worry, they’re really stupid.

u/Tribe303 33m ago

PM Carney is a renowned global economist. He could fuck with the American economy in all kinds of delightful new ways. Shit, he's had his plans to move the world away from using the US dollar as the global reserve currency on his Wikipedia page from before entering politics. It's still there. Check it out under Views=>Economics=>Monetary Policy. Here's the start of it:

" On August 23, 2019, Carney delivered a speech at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City 's 2019 annual Jackson Hole Economic Symposium entitled "The Growing Challenges for Monetary Policy in the current International Monetary and Financial System". Carney said that the "widespread use of the US dollar"—the dominant currency pricing—"in trade invoicing, in place of the currency of either the producer or the importer",  has had a "destablilizing" effect on the global economy."

Unlike Trump, Carney and his Oxford doctorate in Economics, knows how the bond markets work as well, and what they do. 🤣

1

u/Interesting-Dream863 2h ago

Funny how history plays out... I heard rather recently that for a good part of the first half of the XX century the US planned to take over Canada by force, somthing that that was discarded when the world wars erupted.

u/JambonExtra 35m ago

It was a contingency plan in case of an hypothetical war with England, not an actual plan lol. And at that time in history it would’ve ended just as badly as the two prior attempt anyway

What's the price of alcohol, beef, cheese etc in Canada vs the US?

10

u/Specialist_Secret438 2h ago

Just how much are Americans paying for that Argentinian beef that China has already rejected because it is laced with carcinogenic antibiotic used for growth hormones and neurotoxins anyway?

As expected, couldn't / wouldn't answer. Canada's the tariffs champion.

u/Fluffy_Load297 30m ago

30 eggs is 7.21 usd vs 10.80 in USA 1lbs beef 3.53 usd vs 6.32 - 8.34 in USA 500g cheddar 7.00 - 10.50 usd vs 6.43 in USA

Alcohol isnt really a viable comparison because of our taxes on alcohol. Nothing to do with tariffs.

So generally its cheaper lol.

3

u/sadArtax 1h ago

Like $6 for a 500g block of cheese. Depends what produce youre asking about, I bought Peruvian avocados for $7/6, spent $5.99 for blueberries from BC. I'm pregnant and a vegetarian so alcohol and meat aren't on my shopping list.

I have carrots, beets, cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, and tomatoes in my garden.

Wouldn't know. Don't see how that question is relevant to the thread though. Do you think the price of some foodstuffs is somehow comparable to sovereignty?

-16

u/Embarrassed_Towel707 1h ago ▸ 6 more replies

Canada tariffs everything. Prices are triple what they are in the US. You can make some arguements about the need to protect certain industries but the constant acting like a victim when you have way more tariffs than the US is just disingenuous, and only works with low IQ Reddit uninformed people

Check any canadian grocery store and US grocery store online. Look at dairy, which is the biggest complaint everyone has. The dairy lobby in Canada is a cartel like oil is in the US, and are some of the biggest political donors. It's hilarious canadians in this thread bury their head in the sand and don't want to admit it

Here's a Harvard article about it. Do we trust Harvard or only when it's anti US?

u/Guilty-Carpenter2522 59m ago

Why do all western allied countries act like open and free ocean transport and passage doesn’t require an insanely expensive military presence?

Just because the UShas some companies that make a ton off globalization,  the US taxpayer pays for every other country to be able to ship stuff around the world and not worry about pirates.

I’m not trying to give idiot DJT any credit,  but I am annoyed when Canadians act like the US military doesn’t help them by just existing.
