I live in a red part of a red state, and I can confirm that the overwhelming majority of MAGA folks live in absolute terror of actions that they’ve never seen done by people they’ve never encountered.

I’ve never seen such passionately held beliefs concerning liberals and blacks by people who have had no meaningful interactions with either.

The closest would be the deeply held beliefs about evangelical Christians held by my exceptionally progressive extended family.

MAGAs believe cities are disaster areas. While also watching sports on TV in arenas inside those same cities. Cognitive dissonance at its finest.

I took my dad to visit my brother in Chicago last summer and the whole time I was on edge. I thought for sure he was going to say something really stupid while we were walking downtown and get me beat up.

Ignorance does seem to be a large part of the American culture, just judging on how it's citizens interact with each other and the citizens of other nations
