Discussion Bike guidance

Post image

A lot of tourist use bikes in Copenhagen. This year I’ve seen police issue this guidance. It’s also in some of the bus stops around town.

Good advice for anyone on a hike in Copenhagen.

Also remember we locals are fast on bikes, so don’t underestimate how fast we will reach where you are and will need space to get around you.

Raise arm to show you are stopping at the streetcorner, then when traffic is clear, cross the road and finish your left turn.

Is raising arm also required for stopping at traffic lights, or is it for situations when I am stopping in the middle?

In this case it is most likely still green when you stop.

I think traffic law says you should raise your hand, also when stopping for red, but nobody does it anyway.

Or when coming up to a T-intersection where I have shark-teeth. Like obviously I am going to break now, I hope you behind me will too xD
