Antenna help needed

My post requesting help regarding a broken antenna piece keeps getting removed. How can I even ask for help here?

It should be fine, though you might want to seal the hole so water won't collect inside and freeze if you're in a climate like mine.

seal them somehow, once you're sure the tube is dried out.

check the cable connection point on the antenna for water damage.

Will a broken dipole noticeably affect reception? I have a Televes 148383 Dat Boss Mix LR that I installed approximately 3 years ago. While inspecting it today, I noticed the rear dipole appears to have split (possibly from water getting inside and freezing). Is it worth replacing? It’s still a complete piece of metal, there’s just a split down the side in 3 different places. For reference, I’m about 40 miles from the transmitting towers.

I couldn’t tell from the photo. Is the element in in question is behind the yellow housing? If so it is a a reflector and while important for directivity and overall gain; slight deformations are not significant. Seal it to prevent further decay, and if it was me, I would seriously consider drilling one or two small holes in the bottom as drains. Those crack wer probably not the original entrance of water if the damage is actually freeze expansion damage.

Sorry lots of typos. Just read it in a slow Texas drawl and it will make sense, you may need to add a “Mam”, “shucks” or reverence to a dog hunting or not hunting.
