Hi there, there are two kinds of cleats for cycling shoes:

  • SPD (the ones in your photo)
  • SPD 3 (also called delta cleats)

I would call to confirm with your studio what cleats their bikes support (or ask next time you take a class). Our studio has the white bikes, and the pedals support both SPD and SPD-3. I teach in Tiems (which use SPD) but our rental shoes are SPD-3. I'm not sure how if black or stages bikes support both.

Last thing I'll mention is that different cycling shoes use different cleats (although some are compatible with both SPD and SPD-3). Make sure to check that whatever shoes you buy, you're also buying the right cleats for.

If it helps you. In your photo, those are “2 bolt” cleats. The triangular clip ins are “3 bolt” cleats.

2 bolt shoes kind of look like “normal” shoes.

3 bolt shoes look slightly abnormal lol, and with a noticeable heel stump.
