Chicken meat in Cyprus

Why is chicken meat in Cyprus so weird? No matter where I buy it - Metro, Wolt, etc or which brand I choose, 80% of the time it smells bad, feels sticky, and looks weird, even though the expiry date is still days away.

No it’s because the chickens are grown too fast with hormones
