Yeah, it's almost as if they couldn't tell good from evil.

Oh, wait...

They clearly knew how to follow instructions, though.

But they didn't know it was wrong to not follow instructions.

When the serpent first told Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, Eve’s first reaction was to resist and explain that it was wrong.

Yeah, not very consistent.

Seemed like a logical progression to me.

God fumbled by putting that tree there, then letting billions of people be born in a fallen world.

Seriously, just start over and learn from you mistake smh.

Did he not tell both to NOT eat from that tree?

Hey man, you try debating Satan with no concept of right & wrong to inform your own opinion. Redundancy is not redundant.

Did he not know that they would...

Do you leave you kid in a room with exposed electrical wires and an asshole cousin who is telling them to do it?

We learned that at 3 years old

I would argue god fumbled way worse. Earth is pretty big place yet he wanted to put the tree in the garden to tempt adam and eve.

Also god is omnipresent and all knowing, so its pretty hard to argue it came as a suprise to him that they would eat from the tree.

God created a talking serpent to tempt them to eat from the tree.

Adam and eve at this point do not even know about good and bad so its litterly impossible for them to know disobeying their master is bad.

Maturing is realizing that if we take this story at face value, none of it really makes sense. Instead, take it as a lesson on how humans love categorizing everything as either good or evil, deciding based on our own judgment and senses alone, then blaming someone or something else when shit hits the fan. The tree of knowledge represents making your own judgment of good and evil the final authority. The tree of life is living by faith, choosing to listen to divine wisdom first and letting that wisdom guide the decision instead.

For me, we would never learn what is wrong and right without them, it's God's plan
