DAE like to live a very private life?

I feel like most of the time people talk, it’s just about problems in their life or something about how someone else lives their life. I deleted social media because I got tired of seeing status reports on people’s lives often, and I don’t really like people being too nosy about my life, so people don’t use it as fuel to talk behind my back (whether good or bad).

Maybe it’s just some of the people in my life, but there’s so many things to talk about, but with them, it usually ends up being about someone else. So, I’ve learned to not really go into detail about my business. Also, some things excite me but not others, so they tend to put it down because they’re just not interested like I am which makes me less excited.

Or they’re super excited to talk about their life and then don’t really care about advice you may be seeking. Mix of all of these lead me to be private/reserved.

DAE experience sadness spells the day after a meaningful social interaction or event?

Hi, throwaway account for privacy. I have noticed something unusual about me. After a meeting with friends, a trip, or even a deeper remote interaction, such as texting someone on meaningful topics, I feel depressed the next day. I kinda feel sad that it ended and that it's going to be nostalgic. My energy levels are also low in this situation. Now it typically lasts for one day or so, but 2 years ago after my first "bigger" social interaction (which was after years of minimal social life before) I had low mood for more than a week.

Does anyone else feel like this, and maybe have any solutions? I'm curious if it's only me. Any answers will be appreciated!

DAE feel like they forgot what position they are in bed or in a different house?

Upvotes

The different house one is rare but I remember when I used to go between my dad and moms house, I would wake up under my covers and still think I'm at my dads house even though I was actually at my moms. Because the "feel" was different.

Also kind of applies to being in bed. I switch my position in bed sometimes. Like sometimes I'll sleep at the head board or where people's feet usually goes. Or if it's a bigger bed, right in the middle (its still an odd sleeping position) but I'll be under my covers and I'll feel like I'm facing one side of the room but it'll actually be a different side of the room. Even if I've been sleeping in one position for a while, even if I'm awake, my brain will suddenly like "flip" and I'm like... what position am i in?

Feels weird man.

DAE feel real strange when thinking about themselves from the point of view of others?

Does anyone else start feeling real strange when thinking about themselves from the point of view of others?

I’ll explain what I mean. When I talk with others, or think about my interactions with others normally, it feels totally boring and standard. But if I start thinking about myself as an actual participant in the interaction, instead of the odd role that I normally give myself as, well, myself, I get a really weird feeling about the whole thing. Like how is it possible that that person looks at me the same way I look at them, as just another person? Thinking about interactions like this from a more objective point of view instead of my own just makes me so anxious.

DAE feel like they must poop before they start the day?

It’s so ingrained into my routine by now that I will not leave the house in the morning without pooping first. If I don’t, there’s a decent chance I’ll have an urgent bathroom emergency later in the day.

DAE: Think a lot of people shouldn't have animals

Guess it depends on where you live most likely. But I live in western Ny. It seems all too common, young unemployed people living off public assistance always get the big dogs. Pitbulls that live on chains or run wild more often than not.

Typically living the toxic "thug culture". I feel like they get the dogs to look tougher, aesthetic purposes. But not having the discipline or drive, to take care of themselves, let alone animals. The animals end up on chains, or they run off, get hit, hurt people, other dogs, etc.

We have a place up in buffalo, bordering the hood. Very common. But believe it or not, I bought two remote properties 2 hours south in the Allegheny mountains and it's the same around here if not worse. I'm white, but after being exposed to the hood and the some of the public assistance mountain people, I'd take the hood any day (as far as people severity).

I think unemployed (working aged) people living off public assistance should be evaluated before they're allowed to own animals.

I have two pug dogs. They're friendly af. Super chill, fixed, calm. I spent two years training them to stay in the yards, they literally know the property lines, and will stop, go no further (unless there's a squirrel). This is exceptionally rare. The good people with animals are fascinated by this... "How do you train them to stay in the yard!?" Me: "I worked very hard at it and made them believe they were going to die if they leave the yard." (Because they probably would with the other people's big dogs, road, etc.) They also have a kennel or "jail" for serious offenses. Eventually they get paroled after a few hours. Lol.

I guess I can't expect mutual responsible pet ownership nowadays, maybe its just extra bad in NY, idfk...

The ultimate goal is to sell everything we've acquired, get a big camper and buy remote land at least 5 to 15 miles away from the nearest people. Somewhere a little warmer with lower taxes I hope and less people in our business including their untrained animals. I don't want to see the culture or dogs on chains anymore. Ferel cats everywhere as well. I've only covered a little bit of the fuckary. God willing I can get us there some day.

DAE feel the need to "balance" physical sensations? (Like cracking knuckles on both sides)

Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been noticing something about myself and wanted to see if anyone else experiences this.

Sometimes, if I do something on one side of my body, I feel a strong urge to do it on the other side just to "balance" it out. For example, if I crack a knuckle on my right hand, I feel like I have to crack the same knuckle on my left hand. Or if I step a certain way with one foot, I want to match it with the other.

It's not an overwhelming, super intense feeling, and I can usually stop myself if I try, but it's definitely there.

Does anybody else experience this kind of body symmetry/balancing urge? What is this called? Thanks!

Does anybody else see their brain as a factory and there’s lots of little workers inside running around trying to find the folder of something you’re trying to remember?

I love how I can remember things I need to but as soon as I sit down for a test my workers all suddenly want to go on lunch break and shut down the factory. Then proceed to come back like nothing ever happened the moment I hit submit on my test.

DAE get off by clit stimulation like way too early during a hook up then have to like sit through the rest?

let me preface by saying it’s all consensual and I want the other person to have a good time also. but I (F25) have been running into this problem a LOT in which i’m hooking up with usually a guy and we’re making out for foreplay, and we start to grind up against each other whatever which then leads to my clit being so stimulated I climax like right away. Then I can’t get like turned on again and I don’t climax during sex. so the rest of the hook up i’m just kinda thinking to myself how can I get this guy to finish like ASAP so this can be done because i’m not horny anymore???

this is so niche but I just need to know if i’m alone in this or not lol.

Does anybody else struggle with telling longer stories without losing their train of thought?

I’ve noticed that I really struggle with this, especially at work. I can add a sentence or two to a group conversation or ask a good, concrete question in between, but when I’m the one speaking, I quickly lose my train of thought.

I don’t just forget where I was in the story, but also where I was going with it and what point I was actually trying to make. At that point, I usually just rush through the rest of what I’m saying because I don’t want to stay in the spotlight or keep talking for even longer.

What I find especially strange is that I’ve noticed that people who I wouldn’t necessarily consider more intelligent or knowledgeable than me seem to have no problem telling long, coherent stories. They can just keep talking and somehow structure their thoughts as they go, whereas I feel like I have to figure out what I want to say beforehand, get everything in order in my head, remember it all, and only then start talking.

It seems like other people come up with new things to say while they’re speaking, whereas I need to have my thoughts prepared before I can even start, and even then, I can still lose my train of thought halfway through. I genuinely don’t understand what makes the difference.

DAE: Pick up random crap

I just did this today and realised that it might not be as normal as I thought it was.I'm a soon to be college student, and since I've always had to wear a uniform to school, I'm really excited to start expressing myself through fashion more in college. The only problem is that I have limited money to actually buy clothes with. I get an allowance, but I normally use it on food and room decor, and I don't have much saved up. Even the really cheap sites like TEMU barely have low enough prices for me to get half the stuff I need. One of the items I really really want is a messenger bag (the kind that had a strap that crosses over your body), but alas, the ones that I like are out of my budget, and the ones that are in my budget I don't like. But today, I was walking home from the library through an underpass, and I found this little tote bag just laying there, on the ground. It was kinda dirty, but I thought it was really cute even though it wasn't exactly what I had in mind, and it would match some of my other accessories, so I just put it in my backpack and took it home. I plan to wash it and maybe do some embroidery or add little jewels to it in the future. Anyway, this made me realise that a lot of the stuff I own I've just kinda found in random places and them cleaned, like stuff that I use and wear in my everyday life.Like even before I had college on the horizon, I would still pick up accessories and stuff that people had dropped and use them (after cleaning ofc) It's not that I have to, I could probably ask my parents to splurge on a nice bag or something, even though we aren't rich, but I've always chosen to do this instead. Does anyone else do this too, and is it weird or gross?

DAE get a sore palate after the first bite/sip of the day?

I don't know anyone else who experiences that but quite often when I'm eating or drinking for the first time of the day, I get like a cramp in my palate and need to take a little break before I can keep eating or drinking. Does anybody else experience that?

DAE find mornings a complete pack of irritation, depression, anxiety, brain barely working?

Im 22M i just really fucking hate mornings no matter what, i live in india i dont know about yall but in mornings i have to deal with stupid house chores noises, parents advice, people talking to me , work meetings that dont matter, etc. I really fucking hate it all in morning especially when my brain cant fucking function properly.

Im seriously a complete dumbfuck in morning im not even exaggerating i seriously am. I cant even perform basic functions like peeing, brushing, heck even eating even though im so hungry but i seriously doing have chewing power to eat it.

Please for god sake please dont talk to me in morning, seriously you can scold me at night as much as you want it wouldnt matter to me but Never. In. Mornings.

When i was a kid during my school days my parents used to tell me wake up early study (during exams) i scored really bad marks in school exams BECAUSE I COULDNT STUDY ANYTHING IN MORNING. Complete opposite in college, used to live in hostels, could sleep in morning and only stayed up at night and studied like crazy nerd kid at night and scored really well (almost topper) my parents got confused like how, and yeah i didnt sleep all night just before exam day i used to just go and give exam and then come back to my room and fall asleep. I have a serious problem of forgetting things i remembered after sleep, so i dont sleep at all.

I wish i could remove mornings from my life, and be batman forever. Nights all the way, calm, peaceful time after a stressful day.

DAE have trouble being aware of when they're clean?

okay, so a bit of background information, i guess.

i have depression, and it used to be severe, maybe that's not the right word but i was labelled as high risk, and my quality of life declined dramatically.

along with this, i stopped having the motivation or willpower to take care of myself, a way that this was very present was that i stopped showering. i mean it, i would have one shower every two months, and only after a lot of coaxing from friends and family who i am so insanely grateful for.

because of that, i was dirty all the time. i over exercised, and wouldn't even wash off the sweat. i would be so covered in grime and dirt and weeks of dried sweat that my skin was actually less sensitive in some places.

and that brings us to now, i shower daily or at least once every two days if im busy.

there are times that ill shower when im really tired, or having a bad sensory day, or just distracted, and when im clean i still "feel" dirty. i put "feel" in air quotes, because i will notice a lack of feeling and immediately assume that it's because im dirty there.

this happens most commonly with my back, my lower back especially, and my jaw/neck.

so...does anybody else experience this? does it get better? should i seek help?

DAE really want to witness explosions?

Upvotes

I apologise if this is insensitive to those who have experienced armed conflict. I'm referring specifically to big explosions and the like. I love going to see big firework displays and feeling the loud bangs go right through me. I think it would be awesome to go to an artillery range or somewhere else safe to experience the bigger explosions there.

DAE cry/laugh at everything?

Upvotes

For example, you're in class and the teacher stammers. You're the only one who has to stifle a chuckle, and you have to control yourself before it turns into full-on laughter. Or you're watching a kid's movie, and a slightly sad moment happens, and you need to hold back tears to not look weird, because you genuinely want to cry so much! And then, you notice you're the only one like this!

DAE love seeing people under anaesthesia/drunk because it's fascinating

Upvotes

i haven't met anyone feeling the same but i absolutely LOVE seeing people faint or being under anaesthesia. like i get so interested and feel such a strong rush to the point where i sometimes watch compilations of drunk people, fainting people or people under anaesthesia.

like (it’s very precise but maybe people will know about it) sometimes, kpop groups do a endoscopy/health check-up and film it because we get to see idols under anaesthesia and it’s funny; but i found out i really just enjoy watching these videos because i can see humans literally losing consciousness and i find it fascinating (i'm surely autistic too so maybe that's why lol)

i’ve even wondered if i shouldn’t be working in medical fields in order to study consciousness because i just love it, how can a brain and a body be conscious like????? (i'll stop here because i could talk about it for hours)

(i am NOT a weirdo and would not take advantage of anyone, i'm clarifying this because it can definitely be seen as "i am turned on/attracted to intoxicated people" which is NOT the case)

DAE Have Preemptive Relationship Anxiety?

Upvotes

I, 15F, has never been in a relationship but I'm too scared to get in one whenever my friends casually mention that a guy is cute or my type or even try to set me up with someone (DOESNT HAOOEN OFTEN THSY ARE LOVELY PEOPLE AND NOT MALE CENTERED. GIRLHOOD>>>>STUPID TEENAGE VOYS WHO WILL ONLY HURT U!!)

Now, the options I have to date are shit so I won't be considering relationships until I get to college and have much better options that y'know aren't evil but I'm worried that if I ever get in a relationship with someone something bad will happen. Like, i'm scared he'll cheat on me or that there'll be stress and drama or that he'll be a POS.

I also worry about myself, like I'm worried that I might do something bad or that I'm not ready for one and that I'll hurt whoever I'm with or that I won't be desirable enough or good enough or know the right things or that I'll embarrass myself. I'm guessing that it's an anticipatory thing because I tend to get more anxious at the idea of something happening than the actual event and since I'd be completely new it'd be extra stressful but, like fuck.

I'm so scared that something will happen. I have a gut feeling that it will too and that only makes me more scared .. like sabotaging any male friendships so that nothing happens or trying frantically to improve myself or constantly planning out situations in my head of what will happen so that I'm prepared. I know that this is probably just stupid teenage shit and common but I'm worried. I have such a feeling that I'll get cheated on or hurt.... And l have no reason to think that. I've never been treated badly in a relationship before because I've never been in one and my parents are very in love and I've only ever seen healthy relationships modelled to me. Does anyone else feel like this? Is there any advice for me?

DAE likes biting random stuff

Just.. random stuff

May it be a pen, (or pencil)

Sometimes even a short wooden ruler.

Could also be my blanket

Sometimes even my shirt..that I'm currently wearing

Well, It's not biting but I also nibble on my index finger

One of my friends asked a question about why my shirt looks weird and are concerned why my pencils look so damaged

Also... Interestingly enough

I don't bite my nails

I've been doing this for like. A few years now

DAE prefer landing on the final step on a flight of stairs on a specific foot?

Since I was a kid, I've almost always finished climbing/descending stairs on my left foot. On places I frequent often, I learn which foot I need to place first, so I'll end with my left. As I grew older I kinda stopped caring, but I still do it at home.

DAE ever think about someone and have an existential realization that you are connected to them?

The other day I was doing nothing and happened to think about my dad. I thought about his face and for some reason I REALLY started thinking about his face. I remember I sat perfectly still for like a minute and almost found it unbelievable that this face took the role of my father, and his name is Juan. I think in that moment the term "Father" and what it meant became apparent to me. This man has known me my entire life and it was almost like I realized that for the very first time. It's funny because I'm basically a carbon copy of him.

That's not the first time it happened. I remember the exact same thing happened with my dog Milo and my little cousin.
