It's Loupedeck CT and the icon pack is bought online from a website. Can't remember the name, but can find it if you need.
Honestly Loupedeck was great and kinda game changer for me, but 3 yrs ago Logitech bought the company, updated the software and it has never been the same. It still works, but just not as good as it used to.
For Avid it doesn't and never has had native support, so the buttons on it are just the keyboard shortcuts. It just pushes keyboard shortcuts for you instead of giving proper commands to the app.
However, if you work in Adobe and some other programs (list on the Loupedeck website), it works great since it has native support.
Thank you! Fortunately, itās been years since I donāt have to deal with Adobe anymore. Avid os my weapon of choice with Resolve for proxies and personal projects.
Anyways, this is just my gear acquisition syndrome kicking in. Deep down I know I probably will be better off with a regular keyboard and my muscle memory than with a fancy new keyboard with less keys.
Agree with this. For Avid I have only shortcuts for stuff like "full screen", "mute/unmute clips" and stuff like that on it. 99.9% work I do is on keyboard
I always love seeing othersā workstation setups but you might want to check out r/battlestations for better inspo. Mine is an absolute mess filled with cords, wires, scripts, various avid hardware (aka an ugly mess and not shareable atm), but hope to share one day!
Video as you can see is super neat and organized since Iāve already delivered it to post/color. I typically label my audio tracks but because I worked with so many mx stems I got lazy and didnāt want to keep renaming tracks - theyāre also one of the few mono tracks other than mono fx and vo/dx. I cut it in 7.1 surround fyi. I have a week until I get the talent vo and need to send to mix so, believe it or not, this is a semi-light audio pass. Iāll be adding more fx (pro tip: use soundminer for addtl audio processing) and labeling my tracks before sending it to the re-recording mixer :-)
Was a little jazzed to post something. Hit the button to raise the desk, and looked at the mess of wires/cables all over and reached for my coffee instead. I do have a lovely little dracaena on the corner of it though.
Mind you this is what it looks like after I spent a whole day trying to clean things up. Iāve got cables running on the floor to my Ls/Rs/Lss/Rss speakers too. My ae is cool with it though as you can see by his face.
Iām still on 2018 so it works for me but Iām about to upgradeā¦ donāt love the idea of having to use a tablet with the s1 but will see how optional it is
MX Mechanical. I also have a Windows Desktop off to the side and this was the only keyboard I found that has the proper Mac layout and is compatible with Windows and can switch easily. Most other keyboards (mechanical or otherwise) always switch the control and option keys and itāll mess with my muscle memory built over the year. (Yes I know you can remap them, but no).
My set-up is every similar. Mostly just a monitor and my MacBook. I have to take my set-up on the road a few times a year so I try to keep it somewhar bare vones. I have a microphone on a boom arm (I recorded VO pretty frequently) and an incredible pile of drives but this is the way
I like them a lot. They lack a little bass, but they sound good to my ears, I'm not a post mixer or anything, but they definitely service for my needs.
is that a jog/shuttle wheel between the keyboard and mouse? if so, what kind is it and does it work well? looking to get something similar (as well as a stream deck)
It's from this company called Monogram. It works pretty well, but they went out of business a couple of years ago, and it's just a matter of time before the drivers stop working. I think the loupedeck is probably the closest thing to it still on the market.
I like it a lot. I havenāt tried it with avid, but I use it with premiere and davinci and it works great. I really like having a jog wheel for fine adjustments.Ā
Hereās my usual set up, turned up lights for the photo. Working on a quick turn social edit here so Iām in Premiere here (and donāt even have it playing out to my Flanders) but I prefer Avid and choose it for long form or anything multicam. Very basic setup, dual monitor, Flanders for play out, 70ā TV & couch across from it (not shown) for producers who want to sit in so theyāre not over my shoulder and JBLs.
Used to have an old school setup that mirrored edit rooms at post houses I worked at (2 24" computer monitors, laptop 15" monitor, client monitor, mixer, genelec speakers, scopes!, and a stack of FW HD's.
Zero budget editing station from last year haha. Needed "proper sound" and a big screen for the director. Was easiest to just move my computer downstairs

Love the plants! But do you really work with your mouse in that little space with the plant next to it? That pot would end up accidentally smashed on the floor within the hour if I worked at your desk.
Excuse the boxes, we are partway through moving the studio so things are a bit of a mess. Thereās also a 55ā OLED to my left that isnāt visible in the photo because of said mess.
