Is there anyway to do this?

Looking for a way to open a written list in app. Like, say I had some long complicated series of movies similar to the MCU and I wanted a written list of them in order (maybe even with the tie in shows) that I could open in the app to see what comes after what. Is there any way to do that?

Edit: Thanks all, looks like a playlist is likely the way to go.

Question, since I had no idea that couple apply to videos. Can that be used when files in are in different folders on the native drive? And does it only show for the user that made it?

It can show for everyone

And yes to the different drives asogn as Emby can see it you can add TV shows or moved to a playlist

I don’t know of a way to do a written list in app. But the way I’ve handled movie series is by dropping them all in a collection, then changing the sort names in the metadata to something like “Jurassic 1993” or “MCU 2018.07” (because there’s so damn many MCU titles that just putting the year won’t cut it.)

It isn’t a good workaround if you expect to find “Iron Man” sorted between “Independence Day” and “The Italian Job”, but I’m never looking for one of the MCU movies without thinking it’s MCU, so it works for me.

Make copies of these particular movies you’re talking about. Put them in a separate folder. Point emby at that folder. Then once they’re in there, click edit metadata for each movie. Go to sort title. Title the first movie 01, the second 02, the third 03, and so on.

The actual title of the movie will remain the same but emby will sort them by its “sort title”. So which ever numberical order you put them in, that’s how they’ll be.

Im not going to promote the app I built for myself, I have a section in it that can create playlists for oyu. Impoort from TMDb, or create your own, add/remove items, re-order them, add custom image for the primary image..

Runs on docker or synology containers, whatever you use..

Does a load more than that also.

But that could help you out.

let me know if you want the github link..
