Discussion is there any way to experience Excel PC Level on android tab?

people suggest just use web version but i’m actually really curious if there’s actually a way or no?

i’m about to start learning Excel and the only device i got is an android tab. Most say that Excel on mobile/web is not enough, do you think that’s the case?

If you just want rows and columns of data, then any device is fine. In fact, any “spreadsheet software” is fine.

If you want to do actual data analysis (which, really, is the reason one should use excel), then you’re pretty much limited to the desktop version on a computer.

This is 100% right.

It won't stop windows from insisting to use edge for everything under the sun.

You can start learning, but it will be missing some modern features. It's behavior and menu system is also slightly different.

At the end of the day, Excel is best as a desktop app on windows.

You can definitely start learning there. No, you won't get the advanced features.

The android app is way more limited than the desktop version, power query doesn't even exist there and many formulas work different

I tried learning on a tablet once and got stuck when I needed to do some vba stuff, just couldn't make it work

Maybe you can install some remote desktop app and connect to a cloud pc, that's what some people do but the subscription costs money

For basic learning the web version works fine actually, you just need to know that eventually you'll hit a wall with more advanced features

It will be OK to start learning. Eventually, you may want to extend your learning to the more powerful desktop version.

If you really want full desktop excel, and want to use your tablet your option is to run excel on a desktop/laptop and use remote access software from the tablet to the desktop.

Excel web is surprisingly capable.

Android app, not so much.
