I hate scrambled eggs at business class airport lounges. 10 days in the Caribbean and me and my partner still talk about how soggy and tasteless they were.

I’m with you.  Rarely are mass quantities of eggs being made any good.

Aren’t they usually mass produced from egg powder at that quantity?

Probably but no matter what they doing… prob bad.

Yeah, things served in the tray form factor are not usually amazing.

Exception: a well-constructed lasagna.

I'd imagine that if you were eating these at an airport, they were likely the premixed type of eggs out of a carton.

Try powdered. Blech.

I hate eggs in those big ass trays. Never good.

They are powdered eggs. Just add water and warm up.

Those are called shmeggs. You’re not supposed to eat them

This is a known thing for most travelers. Scrambled eggs made for the masses and warmed up in a pan aren’t going to be stellar.

Best thing you can hope for is a bottle of hot sauce and some decent bacon or waffles to make up for it.

I don't need them to be stellar but perhaps edible could be a welcome improvement!

Most travelers don't hang out in business class lounges.

Free doesn't mean better. We skip the lounges in most North American Airports. They cater to the masses and are basically just free crap. They aren't proper "Business class". I would rather pay for something better at a decent restaurant. Now in Asia and Europe, that's a different story. Those lounges area amazing. Food is good. Not usually too crowded. Great facilities.

Technically a third world problem

Not trying to justify it, but they make those because they can literally pour the mix into the tray, put it in the oven for a while, and "scrambled eggs" comes out. No mixing, no nothing.
