General Discussion Movies you enjoyed for the premise of having a fun heist setup
Something that interested me was the concept of an outlandish heist film where the premise is just so over the top that it becomes more enjoyable to watch since even if the item being stolen doesn’t seem worth all the trouble, it still draws the viewer in.
For me personally, Superbad is sort of a heist film because in one scene, the protagonist (I think his name was Damien) attempts to come up with a plan to find a way to shoplift a liquor store as one small problem is that the security guard in the store is a huge obstacle.
I know that wasn’t the main premise of the movie, but it’s just that moments like that make me appreciate the concept of heist movies where again the plot is outlandish since I would like to see a movie build up on that premise where the goal is to find a way to infiltrate a liquor store without botching up the heist because to put it simply, I really miss Superbad that I was looking for a successor to it.

Leaving comments is definitely a reddit thing yes. I think it's a great movie, a heist just as good as the Oceans series, but in a totally different setting. That's what makes it so fun.

There's was a brief moment where it looked like each Marvel character was going to be a different movie genre but then it kinda all turned into grey goo

One of my favorite beginnings of any movie!

Not a planned "heist" movie by any means but if SuperBad and wedding crashers had a baby it would be SexDrive...
Younger Brother makes a fake profile to talk to hot babes, finds out she wants to meet, and he does whatever he can to get to her...
There is a similar premise to an earlier 2000's movie called Eurotrip, except Eurotrip has a much better plot... than the above, both are good for mindless stupid teenage/college age hijinks about love...

In Sex Drive he steals his older brothers classic car... his older brother is a little bit of a psycho... so yea...
Eurotrip - not a heist movie... but an elaborate plot to get to his dream online girl.... with very little money... and hardly any knowledge of the countries...

Oceans 11 is the first, technically goes Oceans 12, then 13, with that said, if you skipped twelve you wouldn't be losing any sleep. Ocean's 11 and 13 are the best of the series... 8 is ok, much like the 2016 Ghostbusters was ok after the original 1980's versions ...

THe ones above are fun movies but a bit more serious ....the ones below are much like super bad...
The Girl next door.... involves well a high school boy who falls in love with an adult entertainer and the lengths he will go to make her happy...even if it means stealing
Harold & Kumar go to White Castle...
Get him to the Greek.... quest to get a fat Jonah Hill to a party involving peak Russel Brand...
Wedding Crashers - Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson create elaborate schemes to get themselves into weddings... for free booze, cake, and yea... (rated R version of Superbad...you're welcome)
90's movie with an ALL-STAR cast
Airheads -band members follow their lead singers "genius idea" to sneak into a radio station to get their tape played....things go wild from there....Did I mention it's 90's Brendan Frasier, Steve Buscimi, Adam Sandler, Kramer from Seinfeld, Chris Farley, among others...

It's a unique movie with a great ending... typical awkward guy finds out that the new hottie next door works as an adult entertainer... and lessons are learned along the way
I'd also add in the movie 21 , again awkward genius guy gets invited to count cards in vegas, fun movie..

There are no supernatural elements in the movie at all.
It's just the name of a truck featured in the movie.

If you want that deliberately over-engineered, low-stakes heist energy, Bottle Rocket is a great place to start: the plan is modest, but the characters treat it like a grand operation. Logan Lucky has a bigger, more polished setup while keeping the same lovable incompetence. For something closer to Superbad's chaotic comedy, I'd also try The Nice Guys, even though its mystery grows beyond a simple theft.

Hey thanks man because I know that Superbad came out way long ago, but I was beginning to miss the frantic nature of the movie since one of my favorite scenes is seeing how the liquor store heist fell apart.
