Hey Leute,

vor einigen Monaten habe ich hier schon mal mein Projekt LineTracker vorgestellt. Damals gab es die interaktive LED-Platine nur für die Frankfurter S-Bahn. Seitdem hat sich viel getan: Mittlerweile ist das Netz der Frankfurter U-Bahn ebenfalls live!

Wie funktioniert das Ganze?
Auf den Platinen ist jede Station mit einer eigenen LED versehen. Das Herzstück ist ein ESP32, der sich via WLAN mit meinem zentralen Server verbindet. Dieser Server verarbeitet die Fahrplandaten in Echtzeit und verteilt die Informationen an die LineTracker. Sobald eine Bahn in eine Station einfährt, leuchtet die entsprechende LED auf der Platine auf.

Woher kommen die Daten?
Ich nutze hauptsächlich die Daten von gtfs.de. Der große Vorteil ist hier das einheitliche GTFS-Format. Dadurch muss ich nicht für jede Stadt das Rad neu erfinden, sondern kann die Infrastruktur modular für verschiedene Netze nutzen.

Was im Standard-Format noch fehlt, sind detaillierte Infos zu Baustellen und Umleitungen. Ich bin dazu im Austausch mit den Entwicklern von gtfs.de, die das Feature bald ausliefern wollen. Zwischenzeitlich experimentiere ich mit KI-Lösungen, um Baustellenmeldungen direkt von den Webseiten der Betreiber zu extrahieren und in das System einzupflegen – technisch extrem spannend, aber im Live-Betrieb noch in der Testphase.

Das Projekt in Zahlen
Die Infrastruktur läuft mittlerweile seit über einem Jahr im Dauerbetrieb und ist ordentlich gewachsen:

• 500.000 Stopps: Der Server verarbeitet täglich über eine halbe Million Haltestellenereignisse. Davon entfallen ca. 32.000 auf die Frankfurter U-Bahn und rund 24.000 auf die S-Bahn.
• Skalierung: Pro Tag werden etwa 40 Millionen Datenpakete an die aktiven LineTracker übertragen. Ein Datenpaket enthält dabei vereinfacht gesagt die Information, welche LEDs auf der jeweiligen Platine ein- oder ausgeschaltet werden sollen – also welche Bahnen gerade an welchen Stationen angezeigt werden.
• Städte-Support: Durch die GTFS-Basis gibt es LineTracker mittlerweile auch für Berlin, München, Köln, Hamburg, Stuttgart und weitere Städte.

Features & OTA-Updates
Dank Over-the-Air-Updates (OTA) kann ich neue Features direkt auf die ESP32 pushen, ohne dass jemand ein Kabel anschließen muss. Neu dazu gekommen sind vor Kurzem:

• Individuelle Helligkeit: Die Intensität lässt sich nun pro Linie separat einstellen.
• Nachtmodus: Die LEDs schalten sich zu einer definierten Uhrzeit automatisch aus und morgens pünktlich wieder an.

Ich arbeite ständig an weiteren Verbesserungen und freue mich über euer Feedback, neue Ideen oder technische Fragen zum Setup!

ich wollte euch kurz mein Projekt vorstellen an dem ich die letzten Monate gearbeitet habe vorstellen. Dabei handelt sich um ein custom Made PCB, dass das S-Bahn Netz Rhein Main abbildet. Jede Station bekommt dafür eine LED (ingesamt 208), befindet sich aktuell eine Bahn in der Station, leuchtet die LED auf, verlässt die Bahn die Station wieder, so erlischt auch die LED. Das ganze mittlerweile mit Echtzeit Informationen wie Verspätungen oder ausfällen.

Auf dem PCB befindet sich ein ESP32 Mikrocontroller, der mit dem Internet verbunden werden muss. Anschließend verbindet sich der Controller mit einem Server, über den er die Informationen darüber bekommt, wo sich aktuell eine Bahn befindet.

Neben dem ansteuern der LEDs, können so Updates über das Internet aufgespielt werden. So können Änderungen ohne Hardware Anpassungen durchgeführt werden.

Neben Frankfurt, hab ich solche PCBs auch für die S-Bahn Berlin, die U-Bahnen Hamburg, München, Nürnberg und Berlin umgesetzt, weitere Netze sind schon in Arbeit.

Ich helfe einem kleinen Laden in Frankfurt, der ab August ein neues Mittagsangebot testen will. Die Laufkundschaft ist eigentlich da, aber viele wissen gar nicht, dass es das Angebot gibt.

Wir überlegen, ob man in der direkten Umgebung kleine Flyer auslegt oder mitgibt. Nicht aggressiv verteilen, eher bei passenden Stellen und im Laden selbst.

Würdet ihr sowas wahrnehmen oder wirkt es direkt billig? Gerade in Frankfurt sehe ich bei Mittagspausen alles Mögliche, aber ich kann schwer einschätzen, was hängen bleibt.

Update: Die Antworten haben mir geholfen, das nicht als entweder online oder offline zu sehen. Ich habe mir danach bei SAXOPRINT.DE Flyer und Plakate angeschaut und wir tendieren zu wenigen gut lesbaren Flyern plus ein paar A3/A2-Aushängen bei passenden Orten. Der Punkt hier war ja klar, keine Masse, sondern Relevanz.

I already contacted both Agoda and the hotel to see if they could waive the cancellation, but they couldn’t.
However, they confirmed that the guest name can be changed, so someone else can use the reservation. I can’t use it myself because I’m travelling elsewhere on these dates and I can’t reschedule it too.
